This week I renewed my membership with BNI Iconic - Taguig, Philippines for another two years. It was a no-brainer: in other organizations, business is a by the way, but in BNI it’s business-as-usual, with members committing to helping grow each other’s business. And what enables this is our alignment with BNI’s core values, including my favorite: accountability. When things don’t go our way, it can be easy to point the finger and blame other factors: tough competition, bad economy, etc. But in BNI, the core value of accountability invites us to examine ourselves, and what is within our control and influence. In BNI, we are accountable for our own success: what can we do to make ourselves more referrable to our target clients, and how can we educate and activate our fellow referral partners. In BNI, we are also accountable to each other: what makes our org different is the commitment we make to support each other, to contribute to each other’s goals, because we know that the success of one, is the success of all. #bni #accountability #networking #referralmarketing

I joined the Internationalization award ceremony of the Turku World Trade Center today. International business sounds lucrative and many have tried it. If you have a great product or service that scales outside your home markets, I strongly recommend to consider expanding the business to new markets. But be ready to run ultramarathon instead of a sprint. Selling only in your home market is 100 x easier than in a different culture with different language. Why? - nobody knows you - your accent sounds funny - your company name sounds funny - you thought no localisation is needed, but actually everything needs to be localised - your name and phone number is suspicious - everything is harder from a distance List is long and could be continued. However, I still recommend to start. It is the best thing you can do for your home country. Exporting the goods and services is the only way to secure prosperous future. Selling to each other in Finland does not make the cake any bigger. For above mentioned reasons, I congratulate warmly the winner: Dewaco (https://lnkd.in/eP5iaTUs) Lyyti has not (yet) received this award, but I am happy to share that last month we approached the milestone of… 🇸🇪 10 000 000 SEK 👑in ARR (annual recurring revenue) 🇸🇪 …and in our niche we are in top three players in Sweden. Stockholm office we launched in 2012. It is an ultramarathon. Not a sprint.
