🚀 **Back from Amsterdam!** Just wrapped up ITC DIA 2024 this week, a fantastic chance to connect with partners and industry leaders! 🌟 Even with a smaller crowd (missing some of the usual suspects 😉), the networking and conversations were top-notch. Reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting new partners was fantastic! 🤝 My key takeaways: 🔹 Despite digital solutions, in-person meetings have unmatched impact on interactions and partnerships. It was great to meet so many amazing people. 🔹 Yes, AI is the future! Saw some impressive (and many not-so-impressive) cases there. Only combined with the right industry know-how and data, it can create real value. 🔹 Insurtech is not dead (!), but most investors are focusing on ROI over pure growth stories. Value drivers in the industry will survive and prosper. Especially if they combine their solution with a partner centric approach. Nearly two weeks after the The ITC DIA Europe Community Conference in Amsterdam, I'm still reflecting on a great week spent in the Netherlands and on these standout sessions: 💡 Suzanne Akten, Allianz Benelux 💡 Suzanne’s keynote hit the nail on the head about the insurtech landscape. Her message was crystal clear: 👉 Partnerships are crucial for insurer operational transformation at speed. 👉 Keep it simple – Many insurtech solutions are overcomplicated and serve only a small part of the value chain. 👉 Collaborate smartly – Insurtechs should partner with complementary companies to solve bigger problems and streamline integration. 🧠 Deloitte on Generative AI 🧠 Reny Vargis and the Deloitte team delved into AI, the hot topic of the conference. But their approach and practical insights were spot on: 👉 Market insights – Real examples of how companies are currently evaluating and implementing AI. 👉 Future planning – Strategic integration of AI into business plans (and how to approach it for short and long term planning). 👉 Real-life examples – Practical use cases in underwriting (UW), claims, and customer service (CS), with a value/impact analysis that was brilliantly visualised. Overall, the conference also covered the familiar topics of Embedded Insurance, Open Finance, Payments and more and was a fantastic opportunity to: 🔹 Hear about the latest trends, new companies and tech advancements. 🔹 Reconnect with industry friends (so good to see you Deana Murfitt, Mark Dennis, Jonathan Carr, Samuel Knott and more). 🔹 Gear up for my next exciting role (afterall, networking is a muscle and I needed that exercise!). #ITCDIAAMS #Insurtech #Innovation #AI

My first NAAIA National conference was a huge success! The event was attend by many of the world’s top insurance companies and I am proud that AXIS (AXIS Capital) is listed amongst NAAIA’s tier II national partners! NAAIA’s 2023 theme, Empowering Excellence: Tomorrow’s Risks are Today’s opportunities, was embodied through the diverse topics discussed, as well as the rich networking opportunities made available. It’s not everyday you get to exchange thoughts on industry trends with C-suite execs! I would be remiss if I failed mention the profound sense of motivation and inspiration that arises when connecting with individuals who share a similar background coupled with a common vision for career advancement. Key take aways: - Insurance has always been an evolving industry, however the next 3-5 years in particular will be crucial for identifying emerging opportunities presented by advancements in AI and automation. - The value tower: Implementation, Coordination, Communication, Imagination. The highest form of valued you add is through your ability to use your imagination to creatively solve problems. - Periodically take “Think Breaks” to realign your day-to-day tasks with your team’s big picture goals. - Nobody stumbles on success, make a plan and go after it. - When talent meets preparation, impact is limitless.
