Olivine, up close and personal! Last week our team visited our partner Sibelco Group's hydropowered quarry in Aheim, Norway—the main source of the mineral we use in enhanced weathering. At this fjord-side operation, Sibelco quarries the olivine and pulverizes it to Eion’s specifications for fast weathering on agricultural fields. The quarry’s close proximity to both the processing facility and shipping terminal enables a large-scale, highly efficient operation with a low carbon footprint. #carbonremoval #climatetech #enhancedweathering #CDR

3wIt's not widely appreciated that little quarries like this mean JOBS for the people that work there, like the 700 people in the village of Åheim. With shifts in legacy industries like steel, decarbonization offers meaningful opportunities to contribute to the climate challenge while earning a living wage.
