November 17th, 2023, I would like to share a great experience at FAAS -Forum on Automotive Aftermarket Sustainability Day event by Autopromotec in BolognaFiere Group. Thanks to Mr. Hans Kröder's opening speech, I had an opportunity to reconsider the most interesting challenges in contemporary business. Interestingly, the key point in manufacturing when considering cost benefits, not only in the automotive industry but also in other industries, is the importance of production and distribution. However, We need to prioritize innovation and put all our efforts into restoring clean production and conditions and creating different values creation to achieve environmental challenges as SDGs goals of the United Nations. In other words, we can predict an increase in demand for advanced machines with features such as high traceability in manufacturing and remanufacturing. When we compared the HBC with more advanced energy-efficient boss caps currently in operation, we found that it to be at least 3% more efficient. Overall, compared to standard propeller boss caps, the HBC improved propeller efficiency by 3.1% and thrust by 1.1%, while reducing torque by 2%, rudder cavitation by 10%, and propeller induced noise by 1-3dB. Sustainability is a team sport. 💪 When fighting climate change, very few people, or companies, can do much on their own. The same goes for TORM. We can go far. But to reach the finish line, we need both knowledge and help from others. In 2019, TORM and other partners established ShippingLab, backed by grants from several organizations including Innovation Fund Denmark and Den Danske Maritime Fond (The Danish Maritime Fund). Here, we cooperate with universities, industry partners, and vendors. A collaboration, which has led to the development of our hull performance monitoring system, massively improving our ability to analyze and predict the performance status of our vessels, forming the basis of our CO2 saving initiatives. But we are far from finished. Our cooperation with industry and researchers is still going strong. Today, our primary focus at ShippingLab is to get new input on voyage optimization, using tools such as wave models and routing seasonality to enable us to sail more efficiently and reduce CO2 emissions.   Which collaborations provide your business with new and important input on sustainability? #OneTORM #sustainability #co2emissions
