Really interesting article by Arcadis' Global SME for Nature and Biodiversity Daisy Hessenberger PhD, informed by her recent trip to Australia to present at the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ) #NaturePositive Cities Symposium. We have a long way to go but the global nature-positive movement and initiatives like the Task Force on Nature-related Financial Disclosures do indicate a mindset shift that is gaining momentum.

I'm very fortunate to be surrounded by an inspiring leadership group that challenge and motivate and embody the culture of our team. I really believe in the strategic direction we are heading and can’t wait to see how we evolve and grow over the years to come. Massive thanks to the team for their support whilst I have been acting in the role for the past 6 months. It's been a busy period but we have had a lot of fun along the way!

Amazing job Elvira Lanham and Lizzy Buckby presenting your Arcadis project insights at this year’s #anet2023 conference. Keep an eye out for them if you’re there!
Fabulous first day at #anet2023. We had a diverse program of plenary speakers in the morning covering light pollution, communication and road ecology impacts specific to NZ. Then it was my turn with a talk on threatened plants in central QLD and then a workshop on unexpected finds...then it was posters and cocktails! #arcadis #roadecology

Really excited to be involved in this critical part of the renewable energy puzzle for the Central West Orana REZ
We're pleased to announce that Arcadis has been selected as the Technical and Environmental Advisor for the Port to REZ – Road Upgrade Program for the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) in NSW, Australia. The transition from fossil fuel-generated energy to clean energy is fundamental for Australia's future quality of life. The Central-West Orana is Australia’s first REZ and a prime spot for renewable energy generation, with vast potential for impactful solar and wind ventures. Led by EnergyCo, this initiative aligns with dynamic energy transition efforts and will support the National Electricity Market by stimulating job creation and boosting the regional economy. Dion Bowen, Project Manager, Arcadis said: "Improving the infrastructure surrounding the new REZ is critical to its successful operation and ongoing efficiency. This project will provide improved road networks to transport heavy kit required to build the solar and wind farms in the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone, ultimately expanding the clean electricity coverage to other regions." Great to see our QLD Arcadis ecology team getting out and about using their annual Supporting Charities leave for a great cause and doing some team building and sharing technical skills too. #improvingqualityoflife
Yesterday Arcadis' QLD ecology team used some of our Supporting Charities leave to carry out Swift Parrot surveys for BirdLife Australia. We didn't find any Swift Parrots, but we had several lively discussions about individual bird id, a nice morning tea and some team bonding, after a busy first half of the year. Come and join us! https://lnkd.in/g62WQ66e

Only the start of week 4 but feeling inspired and energised after being invited into discussions around the future direction of our Arcadis Resilience business. Great to hear that People and Culture are still very much at the heart of our strategy, demonstrated tonight by a fabulous networking event hosted by our emerging professionals. Lovely to reconnect with the old team and meet some new team members.
