Tis SKO season for many (sales kick off for those not “in the know”). Sunday I’ll be heading out for my own and as a marketer it is important to remember it is actually GTMKO. If you’re in #marketing you have choices to make and things to consider to get the most out of SKO/GTMKO…↙️ 👀 Don’t sit with the marketers, sit with the sellers and the SEs. They know what is happening in the field, what customers say and do, the reactions to YOUR marketing message. There is no better time to get feedback. 👂Listen to the most technical sessions, push yourself out of your comfort zone to figure out how to demo your solutions…you won’t get it right all the time but putting yourself in the shoes of sales/SEs will frame the way you go to market during the rest of year. 🍳Eat breakfast, not because it’s the most important meal (it is) but it’s typically the best time to have a conversation with your sales partners before the taxation of the day starts. I typically learn more during SKO breakfasts than any other time. 🇸🇬🇫🇷If you’re America’s focused, go sit with the EMEA or APJ team. Understand the unique issues and challenges in different theaters. A growth mindset about the global impact of your job will pay dividends later. 💪Stretch and flex those muscles. Sales is a team sport that depends on sellers, SEs, channel partners, finance, legal, and of course marketing. As a member of that team it’s crucial to think of SKO as “training camp” for the season ahead. 📸From the last time I was at an in person SKO in Belfast…I call it “Decisions”
