Ever feel like you are your own biggest roadblock? I know I sure do. Some days feel like a breeze, while others are a major uphill battle. Sometimes keeping my promises to myself can be a real challenge. I’ve found this cycle of frustration is not due to unattainable goals or a lack of capabilities, but typically because of an inner resistance that hinders initiative and consistency. This resistance may be different for each of us and can have many sources, but I suspect that most of us grapple with it from time to time. “I’ll start tomorrow” or “Not feeling it today-” we’ve all got our own version. Rather than scaling the whole mountain on days like these, sometimes it’s worth targeting a more approachable goal. “Get 1% better each day” is a reminder that I give myself when I’m struggling to stay on track. Consistency is a skill - developed by persistently keeping promises to ourselves. Each day of follow-through, no matter how small the task, builds a pattern of reliability. We can’t always rely on inspiration or motivation - sometimes it takes discipline. On days where “100%” isn’t there, “better than yesterday” is meaningfully better than “maybe another day.”

When you're stuck, it's easy to fall into a cycle of endless self-doubt and frustration. We can question our abilities, choices, decision-making skills, and worth. Feeling stuck is just a temporary setback—a detour on the road to personal growth and fulfillment. With patience, perseverance, and a positive mindset, you can navigate your way out of the rut and emerge stronger and more resilient than ever before. What stage of life and career are you at? Having worked with hundreds of people, we find there are 4 clear phases in most people's lives, and within each of those phases, the challenges or goals are also very similar for most people. See the visual for the summary. It is helpful for you to consider this for a few reasons: 1. You are not alone - Many others are in a similar phase or on a similar journey and often trying to achieve the same things as you. Knowing this can 'normalise' the journey and help it feel less stressful or daunting. 2. We all move through the stages. Growing and building along the way, it is important to keep striving as well as celebrate the progress and wins. 3. Viewing it in this way helps you see the phases, focus on that stage and not get overwhelmed. Biting it into digestible chunks and prioritising key goals and actions at that time. Action you can take - Have a think about what stage you are at and what you want to solve and achieve now. Then create your priority action items to achieve better results.

If you think it’s easy, think again! Sometimes, when we achieve something big, we forget how much we struggled to get there. So, we end up diminishing our efforts along the way. I realized that as I grew older. Every time I got good grades, landed a great job, or accomplished anything that required hard work and sacrifices, I would tell myself, “Oh, it was easy.” But was it really? NO! It wasn’t easy. It was doable. - It’s hard - It requires dedication - It demands sacrifices And that’s okay! As long as you keep your reasons for doing it in mind, you can push through. So, next time you achieve something, take a moment to appreciate your journey. Recognize the struggles, the hard work, & the sacrifices. You’ve earned it!!! :) P.S. If you’re quick to acknowledge your mistakes, you should be just as quick to enjoy your accomplishments. Never assume you got where you are because of luck. Luck is fake….circumstances only exist for those that put in the work. If you’re always first to raise your hand and say “that’s my fault,” you should be just as fast to say “I/we were able to accomplish that.” There’s never been one successful person who doesn’t have a long list of failures. Pay attention to what you’re told, look forward to the next day, and embrace the idea of challenge.

You’ve likely heard Jason and I say, Pick your hard. Life is hard, and often we are fortunate enough to pick which hard we want. It’s hard to do BD, but it’s also hard to be broke. Pick your hard. It’s hard to be in shape, but it’s also hard to be overweight. Pick your hard. Let’s relate this to time. Short term easy is long term hard. Short term hard is long term easy. Read those again. If I take the easy path today, the future is going to be harder. But if I choose the more difficult path today, the future will be easier. We all have things we’re putting off. Things which we know we should be doing, but somehow we’re able to justify not doing it today. Think about the things causing you stress. It might be in your business or in your personal life. Likely, as you’re reading this, something has come to mind. Make a commitment to start that project today. Your whole week will be better if you can identify the thing you’re avoiding and take action on it today. You can do anything for one hour. Tell me what you got done today.

Little Drops Make Oceans. If you apply this principle, you will be a standout star at whatever you do. By all means, do the spectacular, but doing the required consistently is how you win. We often think of grand actions when we think of significant progress in our lives. A person looking to get a new position or promotion will often think of something grandeur that can be done to attain such a goal. The truth of consistently delivering on the required is however the way to go. I implore you today to make a list of absolute musts and go ahead to do them continuously and consistently, you will be shocked by the level of progress you will have made in 3months. 📌 Do not allow yourself to despise little things and small beginnings, 📌 avoid being high-minded, pay attention to the required, and watch your creativity and performance go through the roof.

In life, it is important to find the pathways to reach where you want to be in the matrix of your capability, duration and returns from it. What is beyond your efforts, demanding longer period and enjoyment of doing it being too little may not be attempted in the first place to avoid failure and frustration.

As the year winds down, we find ourselves at a pivotal moment, facing the final sprint. Remember the goals we set in January? Now is the time to reignite that early-year enthusiasm and confront the roadblocks we've encountered. It's easy to waver as the finish line approaches, but this is our moment to rise to the challenge. This final push is about personal growth, proving our resilience, and surpassing our own expectations. Picture yourself as the hero of your own success story. Every late-night effort, every step beyond your comfort zone, counts. It's about breaking through the finish line with determination and pride, not just making it through. Let's make these final months count. Embrace every effort, every small victory, and become a stronger, more resilient version of yourself. Be ahead of the herd.
