Start-ups are such a rollercoaster. I remember when we first launched Rocket Doctor in 2020 we got into the MaRS Discovery District program, and through that a few credits with Google Cloud. I remember thinking it was so cool that someone from Google was emailing us, and was aware of the company generally! 😅 😂 Now 4 years later and 350K patients in, to be accepted as 1/15 start-ups (only 1 of 2 Canadian companies!) into the inaugural AI-First Accelerator program with Google for Startups, and then get to close out the show at their office in Mountain View on Demo Day, was honestly all a bit surreal. It was really an incredible opportunity and such a fantastic program. Such amazing start-ups lead by some of the smartest people out there doing incredible world-changing things, with a program lead by an amazing team with Matt Ridenour, Laura Armstrong supported by coaches and mentors like Alex Gould, Sadhana Doddapaneni and others. It was hard work on the back-end building and achieving our OKRs, and very grateful for the support and hard work from our Product and Engineering teams, lead by Anthony Poon and Dave McKay. We've now got some very exciting MVPs for two new AI technologies, and the next number of months will be full of hard work to execute and scale them, along with RD as a whole. Am also grateful to folks like Nida Khan, Imran Pirani, Noura Daadaa, Tey Kitthajaroenchai, Ugo U., Alison Drader and all the other Googlers who have spent time with the company and I helping us so far in our journey, as well as Quantiphi and Bitstrapped for working with us and supporting our mission. Also a big thank you to everyone who tuned in, joined in person for the pitch and/or sent a note with kind words, really appreciate you! Am very excited to be a part of the Google Alumni Network, and keep building new solutions that empower MDs while increasing access to care for folks without family doctors, in rural / remote communities across Canada and/or on Medicaid in the United States. Last week, at Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First - Demo Day 2024, Dr. William Cherniak took to the stage to talk about the most pressing challenges in our healthcare system and how Rocket Doctor is helping to address them. It was also an opportunity to provide a first-look at our new AI-driven solutions. Bill explained how unnecessary visits to the ER, limited access to key populations and MD burnout are just a few of the factors Rocket Doctor is addressing, and how our tech is providing solutions for healthcare providers to bridge access to care for millions of patients across the US and Canada. Introducing our latest innovations: RD Connect: A system that automates triage for virtual care, helping patients determine if they need an in-person visit or if they can receive care virtually. RD Health Voyager: Streamlining administrative tasks by summarizing and synthesizing medical records from numerous sources into concise, actionable information. We’re thrilled to have been a part of this inaugural AI First Accelerator program, and know this is just the beginning to develop further solutions that empower healthcare providers and patients across North America!
