I am excited to have noticed that my first paper has been cited in a recent review paper on conductive MOFs published in SMALL! In their review, my paper was highlighted as an example of modulating the electronic structure of metal active sites. This modulation is achieved by adopting a mixed ligand structure, which alters the stacking mode and metal density, thereby enhancing the gas selectivity and response speed of sensing materials. https://lnkd.in/gcRBcHqW

SAIMechE R&D Journal: Today we look into the paper titled: “Laminar pipe flows accelerated from rest”, authored by E.A. Moss, published in 1991. Synopsis: An integral method was used to analyze the temporal velocity profile development in an incompressible pipe flow which has been accelerated from rest, far from end effects. As with steady state inlet flows, two fundamental zones are appropriate, corresponding to the velocity profile variation prior and subsequent to the merging of the annular boundary layer at the duct centreline, respectively. A dimensionless flow acceleration parameter (a) which arises naturally from the analysis, is zero in the case of an impulsively started flow, and possesses non-zero constant values for exponentially increasing flows. I am excited to announce the publication of our latest review titled 'Development of barium hexaferrite core–shell composites as high-performance microwave absorption by optimizing hydrothermal synthesis' in the Eastern-European Journal of Enterprise Technologies (Introducing: Vol. 6 No. 12 (126) (2023): Materials Science). Our review provides a comprehensive overview of A core-shell composite of BaFe12O19@MoS2 demonstrated anti-radar capability with a low reflection loss of –35.41 dB at a temperature of 220°C and a holding time of 18 hours. The remarkable of this study is that obtaining the thinnest sample thickness of 2mm can result in microwave absorption of up to 99.97% at a frequency of 17.37 GHz. It evaluates recent advancements in radar absorber material and discusses the challenges in developing nanomaterial for material absorber, this study offers valuable insights for future research. We received funding for this project through a grant. J-WAFS researchers Professor Cem Tasan and postdoc Onur Güvenç, plus undergraduate student Rebecca Lizarde, co-authored a paper published in the Journal of Cleaner Production. The paper discusses Scrap Metal Consolidation (SMC) by rolling—a method that processes steel scrap into hot-rolled steel without melting. This technique significantly reduces energy consumption, CO2 emissions, and water usage in steel processing, demonstrating the process as a sustainable alternative to conventional methods. SAIMechE R&D Journal: This week we look into the very first paper ever published in our R&D Journal. The paper titled “Material Properties in Thermal-stress Analysis”, authored by  I. Miskioglu, G.P. Burger and J. Gryzagoridis, was published in 1985. Abstract: With simple techniques and not too-costly laboratory equipment, the significant material properties in modeling transient thermal stresses by photothermoelasticity are evaluated. The results are presented for a room-temperature-cured epoxy, a hot-cured epoxy and a polycarbonate.
