💥! KfW and #D7 did it again! A big “Thank You” goes out to the entire KfW team for the truly fantastic and collaborative work in the run-up to their 4bn EUR benchmark issuance on our digital financial market infrastructure #D7 of Deutsche Börse. This takes the total issuance volume on our platform to roughly 40.000 digital issuances so far and a total of 8bn EUR in value issued, which is second to none under eWpG in Germany. With #D7, in collaboration with our friends at Google Cloud we are now producing digital issuance at scale and in size across structured products and debt capital market products. Where European Investment Bank (EIB) Group is a standard setter thanks to the combined strengths of our EIB Financial Institutions Department and the securitization team of European Investment Fund (EIF). A small contribution towards a long awaited Capital Market Union in the EU.

It was a great pleasure to speak yesterday at the Brussels Economic Forum (#EUBEF2024) about "#EUEnlargement: Making the EU stronger and more cohesive". For the #financialsector, in the #CESEE region, I see two main lessons from the 2004 and 2007 enlargement round, . First, European and international rules greatly helped to ensure #financialstability. Second, #corporatefunding still appears sub-optimal. This is where future EU members should try to ‘leapfrog’, putting more emphasis on market-based finance including venture capital as well as Fintech solutions. This will help to address the huge financing needs, including for #realconvergence and the #greentransition.
