Executive Vice President, Semiconductor Manufacturing and Supply Chain Operations, Robert Bosch GmbH

I am thrilled to announce, that today, Bosch took another important step to meet the continuous high global demand for chips and sensors for the automotive: we opened our new semiconductor backend site in Penang, Bosch Malaysia. 🥳 📈 As part of our global manufacturing network, the Penang test center will complete our internal process chain and significantly increase our capacities. Here we will test semiconductors that we manufacture in our fronted sites such as Dresden. The new test center brings us and our manufacturing network much closer to the backend ecosystem. Malaysia covers an estimated 13 percent of worldwide backend production and is an important hub for this part of the global semiconductor supply chain. This in turn will lead to shorter delivery routes and times and will strengthen our competitiveness. Most importantly, it will bring us closer to our customers in the large Asian market. I would like to thank all colleagues who were part of this project! Special thanks go to Klaus Landhaeusser, Vijay RatnaparkheTP Yap, Liu Zhengwei, Patrick Leinenbach and Max Häusler! We are proud to house the Semiconductor Backend Site and contribute actively to the semiconductor world!
