Data Culture is undeniably a pillar of these foundations. But this pillar is not set in stone. "As an organization matures, so does its need for acculturation. It would be wrong to think that it will diminish," he warns. And if these efforts are to be supported, it is in particular because of the increasing complexity of #business expectations. Decathlon has thus entered a new phase in the spread of Data Culture. The "classic" acculturation stage has been succeeded by a new phase aimed at making Data "pervasive" and transformative for business teams and processes. "Data is no longer just an enabler, but a central component in the transformation," defends Didier Mamma. A "great battle" is therefore underway to position Data at the same level as the company's other entities. This is the Four in the Box conceptualized by Walmart. Data culture and its dissemination therefore require a new organization that encourages interdisciplinarity and interaction. "Value is created through interaction, not through pure execution. This new type of organization needs to be invented. It can't be bought off the shelf from a consulting firm", considers the VP Data & AI. One condition is essential if we are to make the switch to this new model in favor of pervasive, common-good Data: the business "must take full ownership of the subject, and our role is to help it do so!"
