Here's a checklist of key actions to take early on: ✅ 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐓𝐎 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞𝐬: By 14/7, reconcile wages to the general ledger and send the final payroll of the financial year to the ATO under single touch payroll. ✅ 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: Keep your financial records up to date with regular bank reconciliations. ✅ 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐮𝐩 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚: If using desktop accounting software versions like QuickBooks or MYOB, make sure to back up your data regularly. ✅ 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐃𝐞𝐛𝐭𝐬, 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐬, 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲: Check debtors, creditors, and inventory. For write-offs, remember to add back GST. ✅ 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐀𝐘𝐆 𝐓𝐚𝐱𝐞𝐬: Pay superannuation to employees and ensure your liability accounts are clearing correctly. Do the same for PAYG wages tax. ✅ 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐬: Complete your Return to Work SA annual return or your state's equivalent. ✅ 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞: Review any cash floats and conduct a stock take if applicable. ✅ 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤: If balance sheet balances look incorrect, speak to your accountant for a tidy up. ✅ 𝐁𝐀𝐒 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧: Complete and submit your BAS return on time. ✅ 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰: Take the opportunity to review how you're managing your accounting processes. 📢 By taking these early actions, you'll stay on top of your finances and set a strong foundation for the new financial year. 💼💰 #FinancialYear #AccountingTips #FinancialManagement #BusinessGrowth #TaxAccountingAdelaide ♻️ Repost to share with your network
