If you have questions about #WorkAtVA jobs, applications, or resumes, be sure to post them in the comments below for a chance to hear it answered by a VA recruiter during next week’s live broadcast of #TalkAboutItTuesday at noon ET on LinkedIn.
1. Besides tailoring my resume to each position, what other advice can you offer to applicants about getting our resumes seen by recruiting? 2 I have a master degree and I can only qualify for GS-5 or 6. It took 6 months for a letter with that information to get to me. Why is the process so long for the hiring process? 3. What advice can you offer to those who have applied multiple times or have been applied for years?
I am looking to participate in the WARTAC program to be a VSR but I heard that the last class there was limited amount of positions available in the VA. Is there anyway the VA can forecast how many VSR positions will be availbe per quarter so Vets that are getting do not waste thier time pursuing this DOD Skillbridge.
I would like to know how to land an interview. I have applied for multiple positions that never equated to an interview. I live in metro Atlanta area.
I live in Barstow California how do I apply
What basic computer skills do I need for most VA jobs? What is the best way to achieve those skills?
I've applied for months at many different VA sites and never seem to hear back. Is it possible to talk to a recruiter to actually see what I need to work on as far as my resume goes? I have 5 years experience in a level 1 trauma hospital as an ER nurse and open to relocate.
I will love to work at the VA clinic in Arecibo PR but I need help filling my application. I’m an RN BSN with two master degrees and I love to educate. Let me know. Thanks 🙏
Are there any quality reviewers positions open to the public?
Are there any billing jobs available?

1wVA has the worst hiring system. Also, the interview process is horrific. Long 3 tiered questions for each one, that have nothing to do with the position you are applying for. There is a hiring freeze or “Frost” (as they call it) within the VA now but of course it’s not spoken about. Many applications that take time to complete, then a response is sent to the applicant - “this position is not hiring” and there goes all your work of applying. Ridiculous and there are shortages in departments. This can and will affect our Veterans that deserve nothing but the Best for their selfless service to us and our Nation. Saddens me. Hopefully changes will be implemented to give our Veterans the great care they deserve.
