With all the AI innovations occurring, the technology landscape will benefit. We also must ensure cybersecurity is practiced. I think the intersection of cybersecurity and AI is a compliment. There are numerous ways to see that their relationship warrants more research and oversight. It's needed to ensure that “AI in the Wild” does not damage all ready-made advances in cybersecurity. , I purchased a Dell Alienware M16 in January 2024. After just four months, it started having major issues, including defective lights and functionality. After extensive discussions with customer service, it was determined the motherboard is faulty. The replacement process is taking over a month, which is unacceptable for an international student relying on this laptop for studies. Despite speaking with a supervisor, my request for a replacement was rejected. The delays and inadequate responses are disappointing. Dell, please prioritize my case and provide a swift resolution. No. AI is NOT like the internet, AI is like the Browser. Remember the Browser wars? Same steps will be applied here. But with a twist: nobody will win: it will be a long chain of "newer and better" releases, LOTS of internal betrayals, more glitter and more promises than ever before and nobody will be able to say "I won", because with AI, there is always something new and 2x better and faster. What can be done? Simple. Buy AIs with a specific and measurable Use Case... let everything else in the realm or R&D.
