As part of our recent TS23 survey, we asked fleet operators which emerging technologies they are considering implementing in the next 12 months, and the number 1 tech identified was that of digital workflows and automations, closely followed by video telematics. For the wider transport industry, this digital transformation focusses on replacing manual paper-based processes with automated digital workflows. From driver hours and job management, to proof of delivery and vehicle inspections; digital transformation has the power to completely overhaul how a fleet operates. But let's dive deeper into this. Download our free digital transformation guide today to see exactly what steps operators are taking over the next 12 months. #TS23 #TheTelematicsSurvey #DigitalTransformation #EmergingTechnologies

Have you heard about Connected and Automated Mobility (CAM)? It could revolutionise transport within the next 20 years. CAM is about vehicles using technology to drive themselves (without human input) in some places, to connect with each other and the infrastructure, along with the services created by the application of this technology. Fully automated journeys are still some way off, but there are enough advances to not only save thousands of lives, prevent many more accidents and reduce insurance premiums, but also add 342,000 jobs and billions of pounds to the economy. These are the findings in a new report from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), together with Innovate UK and Zenzic. The SMMT is calling on the Government to get behind this important area so that we don't end up in the slow lane! ⬇ Full report here: https://lnkd.in/ekpZQNg7

How can digitalisation help improve communication channels between vessels and ports? As shipping becomes more complex than ever, we need to create seamless data flows that enable better visibility of vessels’ ETAs and levels of congestion at destination, which is critical to optimise voyages on the ship side, and operations on the port’s side. Speaking to The Motorship, Innovez One’s CEO and Founder David Yeo explained why ports can’t rely on manual processes anymore to manage the sheer complexity of operations, and ensure that everything is in the right place, at the right time, to welcome ships when they arrive. Artificial intelligence can empower the human workforce, with algorithms that deploy resources efficiently and adapt instantly when a vessel’s ETA changes. This enables ports to be proactive when facing logistical issues and achieve a more efficient supply chain. Read more: https://lnkd.in/eYCYfTSe #GreenShipping #Digitalisation #Ports #Data
