We work very hard. I know that most people work hard worldwide, but I come from Brazil, so please excuse me for only telling you how amazing workers my people are! I came to Canada almost two years ago. Ever since I was in Brazil, immigration consultants and professionals have been telling me about how hard Brazilians work and how our job titles are often neglected back home. For over five years, I worked as a Marcomm coordinator. Here in Canada, I had to change my job title to manager because coordinator is considered an entry-level job, and keeping my Brazilian job title was confusing for recruiters. It basically implied that despite having over ten years of experience, I had never reached a "reasonable" position and remained at entry-level positions in different companies. Although the coordinator role in Brazil is a leadership position with many responsibilities and trust, it carries a different weight here in Canada. What's funny is that I felt guilty for changing my job title and "fibbing" on my profile, so I felt the need to explain to my former colleagues in Brazil that it was just a formality. In Canada, everything in my job description corresponds to a senior manager role, and keeping my Brazilian job title did not help me at all. Ps: picture from another time, when Brazilian soccer was a reason for pride.

Can I work in Thailand with a Tourist Visa? Many tourists are captivated by the beauty and culture of Thailand and wish to extend their stay. Others see the potential for business opportunities and wish to earn a living in this enchanting country. However, it is imperative for foreigners to be aware of the regulations governing employment, business operations, and freelance work in Thailand. One crucial rule to note is that working in Thailand under a tourist visa is strictly prohibited. To engage in employment or business activities, individuals must obtain the appropriate visa, and subsequently, a work permit. This work permit, which is essential for legal work within the Kingdom of Thailand, necessitates an initial non-immigrant visa acquired prior to entering the country. For those who initially arrive in Thailand on a tourist visa and wish to expedite their work or business activities without returning to their home country to obtain a non-immigrant visa, there are potential solutions available under specific circumstances. We offer assistance in facilitating the transition of visa status within Thailand. To explore these options, please click on the following link. The work permit application process typically requires approximately 7 business days for completion and is managed through the Ministry of Labor office. Eligibility for a work permit is extended to foreign individuals who possess either a non-immigrant visa, are engaged with an employer willing to provide the requisite work permit documentation, and are considering an occupation not restricted to foreigners. The application procedure mandates the submission of these documents by the applicant. 1. A 2-inch passport-sized photograph. 2. The original passport. 3. A valid medical certificate. 4. A registered address in Thailand. 5. A certificate of degree. 6. A letter of employment. In parallel, the employer is required to furnish this documentation. 1. The company's certificate and stated objectives. 2. The shareholders' list 3. The application for Value Added Tax 4. Documentation of the company's withholding tax. 5. A financial statement. 6. A photocopy of the director's passport and work permit with a verified signature. 7. A map of the office location. 8. A letter of employment outlining the applicant's position and salary. 9. An employment agreement. It is crucial to note that the work permit specifies both the job description and the sponsoring employer, and the foreign worker is exclusively authorized to engage in the occupation specified within the work permit and for the specified employer. 🤔 Thinking of employing in #Portugal? The country's bureaucracy can be (very) complex. You probably feel lost in the process, but don't worry – we have you covered. Consider these 4 critical aspects before anything else: 1️⃣ Work-Life Balance: Portuguese work culture values this. So, focus on encouraging employees to do more of what makes them happy. That’s how you maintain their well-being and overall job satisfaction. 2️⃣ Extra-salary Benefits: Fair compensation isn't the only factor in the recruitment process. To attract and retain top talent in Portugal, offer employment benefits and other perks – like meal allowances, health insurance, transportation allowance, childcare vouchers, and additional bonuses. 3️⃣ Networking: Building professional relationships is vital in Portuguese business culture. Encourage your employees to participate in local networking events to establish connections within the industry. 4️⃣ Language: While many Portuguese professionals are proficient in English, having a basic understanding of Portuguese facilitates communication. If you don't, reach out to a local partner to help bridge communication gaps and foster relationships. Shoot us a message if that's the case. What other aspects would you add to this list? Tell us below, and let's help everyone! 👇 #employment #hiring #remote
