Session Description: June 19 - noon In this case-based webinar, we will be utilizing the minimum database (including hematology, biochemical profiling, and the complete urinalysis) to work through advanced cases, some with surprising twists. Ancillary diagnostics -- including blood film review, imaging, and reference lab expertise – will allow for further interpretation of the data that is key to understanding disease and case management. [Free 1 CE Webinar Next Tuesday] Register now: https://hubs.ly/Q02tv3N90 Your client agreed to cytologically assess your patient's mass before surgical removal. You collected the sample, and the results are in. You jump to the diagnosis (who doesn't?) and see “non-diagnostic,” or maybe "inconclusive" – outcomes that are frustrating for everyone involved. Join us for a new 1 CE webinar on Tuesday, April 30, that will show you how to maximize the diagnostic yield of your clinical pathology samples, minimizing non-diagnostic and inconclusive results to get the definitive results you are looking for. Hear it directly from the board-certified clinical pathologist interpreting your cytology samples, Dr. Anna Meredith, and learn how to get the most out of your cytology sample submissions. #CompanionAnimalHealth #Enovis #Cellfie #VetWebinar #VeterinaryWebinar #VeterinaryClinicalPathology #VetMed #VetTech #ClinicalPathology #FreeWebinar #ContinuingEducation #VeterinaryEducation

❓❓❓Why is healthy tissue unaffected by Electrochemotherapy? . . . Application of an electric field in the cell responds to a mathematical formula that was developed the 1990’s. In this formula, size and shape characteristics of the cell are taken into account. Tumor cells have a relatively homogeneous size, and are more sensitive to electric fields than normal cells. Moreover, once the chemotherapy gets into the cells, these molecule stop the cell division; the normal cells divide less frequently and are therefore less sensitive. . . . #ELECTROvet #LEROYBiotech #VeterinaryEducation #VeterinaryMedicine #Electrochemotherapy

A clinical trial follow-up featuring patients with end-stage liver cirrhosis shows increased survival rates and fewer liver transplants in those treated with a new macrophage cell therapy. The results, from Institute for Regeneration and Repair spinout Resolution Therapeutics, will be presented today at the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) conference in Milan. Dr Susan Bodie, Edinburgh Innovations Head of Business Development for the College of Medicine & Veterinary Medicine, The University of Edinburgh Medicine, said: “The Resolution TX cell technology is a fantastic translation of academic research into a biotech environment where it can begin to make a difference. “Strong results like these show real promise of a treatment for patients who currently can only hope for a liver transplant and a life on immunosuppressants. We will continue to follow it with excitement.” Read more➡ https://eil.ac/MATCH2/L The University of Edinburgh| EASL | The Home of Hepatology| Resolution Therapeutics #innovation #collaboration #research #spinouts #EASLCongress #livercirrhosis #livertransplant #technology #clinicaltrial #macrophagecelltherapy #celltherapy

National Histotechnology Professionals Day, observed annually on March 10th, serves as a crucial occasion to acknowledge the significant contributions of histotechnology professionals. Despite consistent efforts, my endeavor to have the State of Oregon (my home state) recognize this day as a state holiday has regrettably been met with denial each year. This persistence stems from a profound concern for the impending workforce shortage looming over the field of histotechnology. With a substantial portion of seasoned professionals retiring and a disproportionate lack of newcomers entering the field, the healthcare sector faces the imminent challenge of prolonged turnaround times in laboratories and increased strain on laboratory personnel. Such circumstances heighten the likelihood of errors resulting from an overburdened and fatigued workforce. The need to garner recognition and raise awareness for the critical role of histotechnology cannot be overstated. Consequently, I am happy to share that my recent plea for acknowledgment was met with acceptance by the State of Michigan. This milestone holds particular significance as it coincides with the establishment of our second laboratory in Michigan. The forthcoming proclamation, which I am eagerly anticipating, will serve as a tangible symbol of Michigan's acknowledgment of the indispensable role histotechnology plays in safeguarding public health, not only within the nation but also on a global scale. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Michigan for embracing the importance of our work in the histotechnology field and for championing its recognition. This triumph underscores the collective commitment to ensuring the continued advancement and sustainability of healthcare services for the betterment of all. Here is a link to the official proclamation from the state of Michigan! Also, Shout out to the National Society for Histotechnology for creating a proclamation template to make proclamation requests as easy as possible! https://lnkd.in/gDzAEFeU #histology #pathology #healthcare #laboratory #dermatology #dermatopathology #microbiology #biology

Happy International Pathology Day from the Connected-Pathology team! Today, we are celebrating #InternationalPathologyDay, a day dedicated to honoring the vital contributions of pathologists both in the preclinical and clinical fields. In the preclinical area, pathology is the cornerstone of many types of studies, such as #Efficacy or #Toxicology, providing crucial insights into disease mechanisms, treatment efficacy, and safety assessments. Accurate pathology assessments rely not only on the pathologist's expertise, which highlights the importance of pathology #trackandtrace workflow, including proper sample tracking systems, multiple quality control checks, and staining optimizations experiments. At Connected-Pathology, we work hand-in-hand with researchers, united by a common goal: to enhance our understanding of diseases and help industry innovators develop novel therapies.
