Bless Frank; 84 or 29.. depending on the weather. But for him we would always be arguing over the fairness of rain affected cricket matches. #icc #dpworld

#CRICDAY2DAY = RAIN! Well, there are many players, moments and factors which affect the course or the direction in which a game is headed, but none is more influential or more irritating than Rain! Today and even yesterday were prime examples of not only how rain can play spoilsport in cricket matches but also crush hopes of a team, working excessively hard, toiling through the moments of the game to enter an "obvious winning position" but end up on the wrong side due to rain. While in white ball cricket, the DLS (Duckworth-Lewis-Stern) method to an extent salvages such blemishes, test cricket, already under dwindling viewership and popularity is facing the brunt of "rain delays". The 4th Ashes test ending in a draw with Australia 61 runs behind in second innings (and only 5 wickets in hand) and the 2nd India-West Indies test on course of a similar fate (where India hold all the horses by far) are a reality check and stern warning in disguise for the cricket pundits and administrators who really need to find a solution to such "natural disasters in cricket". Any suggestions from the readers most welcome in the comments section! Have a look at the beautiful weather at Manchester last evening :) Image source: Times Now
