The next F1 world champion will be a sim racer, yes you read that right. You will see what I mean in this week’s edition of the Sim Racing Roundup. I also have more examples of sim racers succeeding in real life racing (IRL), how race drivers use sim racing as a development tool and the usual sim racing tips, news, and tech reviews. #simracing #esports #Formula1 https://lnkd.in/gZ8z3j_2

From tomorrow's Business of Motorsport column: If you are wondering whether the current F1 teams reticence to admit any new teams to the F1 grid is a current phenomena, it is not. I am currently reading the excellent book The Toleman Story: Last Romantics in Formula 1 by Christopher Hilton. Here is a quote from Toleman Team Manager Alex Hawkridge as they were preparing to enter Formula 1 in 1981: "The Teams in Formula 1 just want the status quo, just want things to stay the way they are. Anyone coming along and rocking the boat..." #Formula 1 #businessofmotorsport

Does anyone else think that the FIA should introduce a mandated 1 hour window at the end of every remaining afternoon Pre-Season Testing session where all the teams have to run Quali fuel loads, engine modes and C4s for at least 3 flying laps so that we can give the Constructors’ and Driver’s championships to Red Bull and Max Verstappen already and skip to 2025? Jokes aside, should F1 strike to make testing more exciting for newer fans with laptimes that are more ‘representative’ and ‘relevant’ or should the good old charm of ‘sandbagging’ be retained? #f1testing #bahraintest #formula1 #f1

Let make F1 great again: Few suggestion: 1. Qualifying: An F1 driver will have to use one soft tyre and do three fastest laps for qualifying. The average of the three laps will be the driver's qualifying lap and his grid position. 2. Tyre Changes: A team will have to use all three tyres - soft, medium and hard during the race. They can start the race with any compound they want and can even hide from their competitors which compound they are going to start the race with. For wet races this rule can be neglected. 3. Championship points: The points difference between 1 to last position should only be two points. The winner will get 25 points, the second driver will get 23 points and so on. #formula1 #MonacoGP #LewisHamilton

We created the F1 Challenge in honor of Max Verstappen, who won his third consecutive F1 World Championship Title. It’s amazing to see the hard work, determination, and focus of the talented Formula 1 driver. I am proud that Verstappen and his coach, Brad, chose BlazePod to help prepare for each race and utilize our smart reaction training platform to enhance his reaction time and fire up his neurons before he hits the circuit. Want to train like Max? Take the F1 Challenge, and see how many Pods you can tap out in 20 seconds! Tap the shared activity and let me know how you do: https://lnkd.in/dJsP8kTg

I was watching the F1 Montreal race yesterday. George Russel was in second trying to overtake Max Verstappen for the lead. He missed the execution and actually lost second place to Lando Norris. This can only be speculation, but it seemed like he was so focused that on overtaking and being in first that he lost sight and therefore his attention on what was most important. Whether that be the correct strategy for overtaking, being in the right place on the track, or any number of things. There are so many moving parts, at such high speeds in F1 it’s hard to say what the right place and the right time to focus attention is. However, I can say one thing. Focusing on the person ahead of you and the place you are not in is likely the wrong place to focus when you’re trying to execute a precise and accurate maneuver.
