Over the weekend, Jasmin Paris made history by completing the Barkley Ultramarathon in 59 hours, 59 minutes and 21 seconds, just seconds before the closing time, becoming the first woman to do so in 36 years since the event's creation.
As a mother of two, one of whom is a talented and athletic young girl, witnessing women shatter barriers fills me with immense joy, nearly bringing me to tears every time I see the photos of Jasmin completing one of the toughest races worldwide. It paves the way for future generations to follow in their footsteps and aim even higher.
As a full-time backend developer consultant for ASICS Technology / ASICS EMEA currently training for a 10K after returning to running, I want to extend my appreciation for efforts to promote women's exercise and bridge the gap. I also want to express gratitude to Nextview Consulting for fostering a supportive environment that allows us to prioritize fitness and mental health without hesitation, motivating me to strive for greater achievements.
Together, let's continue championing progress and empowering women in sports, paving the way for a more inclusive and inspiring future.
