✨ Reflections from Insurtech Insights ✨
🤖 The running theme I heard on AI: Yes, AI will change all sorts of things in insurance, but really it's about solving business problems and making everything easier for people—customers, brokers, and employees. Almost every session I attended discussed change management, failures, and lessons learned.
💡 Key Insight from the Innovation Track: Insurance is the most human business. Its job is to give people a sense of protection and security for risks in their lives and businesses when they feel most vulnerable. Agents' jobs are to ensure their customers get the best coverage they can afford for their businesses and personal use. Carriers' jobs are to provide products and services that enable people to thrive. Paraphrased from Kate Terry, Co-Founder and CEO of Surround Insurance.
👩💼 Wise Advice from the Mainstage:
Don't sweat the small stuff.
Get results early.
Don't postpone tough decisions—it doesn't get easier.
This too shall pass—both good and bad.
Paraphrased from Sabrina Hart, President and CEO, Munich Re Specialty - North America.
🎉 Most Winning Experience Booth: The "how big is your average contract size and how many leads are here" station. Wellness suites with hair services were the real pampering! Sorry I didn't get to try it.
🎁 Best Swag for Your ICPs: If your ICPs are moms, parents, or people with young children and no space to store anything, build your own mini Lego person with cool accessories, glitter rubber duckies, mini foam Statue of Liberty, and BAGGU bags (to store all this stuff, rainproof, and efficiently packs down like a coaster while showcasing your brand).
😂 Bad Marketing Joke That Didn't Land: Person manning booth: Can I scan your badge? Me: Yes, but I am not your ICP, don't have budget, not part of the buying committee, and I will not be an MQL. Person manning booth: Blank face, scans badge.
🚇 Public Transit Tip: Line 7 Train from Hudson Yards to Grand Central is a real timesaver. Although, nothing beats walking if you need to go cross-town between 5-6pm, avoid the stuffiness in subways in muggy weather, or need to take calls while in transit.
Thanks to Insurtech Insights for complementary passes. Great conference!
