Today is Rare Disease Day, a globally recognized campaign dedicated to raising awareness and generating change for the 300 million people worldwide living with a rare disease. Many of our clients are focused on developing treatments to help the lives of patients with a rare disease. Recently, we mapped the patient journey for an ultra-rare disease impacting <5 K patients in the U.S., which affects the body's ability to metabolize cholesterols and leads to progressive neurological problems. A potentially lifesaving therapy already existed, but the disease is significantly underdiagnosed, so our team helped our client devise a strategy to raise disease awareness and find/diagnose new patients.
