What if I decided to give the Photo room from June's "Summer Paradise Playground" an ice cream makeover? This was a question that hit me over the weekend. Visitors would walk through the camera and be greeted with two areas with three photo stations. I kept station one more ice cream scoop and ice cream cone related while making the second area ice cream novelty related. "Scoop and Bloom Garden" has been through some massive updates since last week. Let's start with the structures. I went with new structures that combined various shapes to give that fun/whimsical/free-flowing vibe. More flowers have been added. Not only did I add real flowers, but I made flower lights to give the bushes a fun look. Some of you are probably saying "Why are the ice cream cones here? I thought they were in the "Cone-tastic Creations" room." These cones were intentionally added to give a nice vessel for the flowers and help add another level for the scoops when needed. I still need to add more things like seating, more work on the "Scoop Ice Cream Parlor" Shop (There is an interesting story with this), and seating. "Cone-tastic Creations" has some unique touches happening to this space. Last week, I made a unique design decision to bring some nature into the space. Having some floral ice cream assets, I made them truly special. For starters, I added some flowers by using a flower brush. Then, I took one and made a water feature. My next move to make the space more unique was to give the ice cream cone a different look by placing an angled cone on top of some ice cream scoops. I have more surprises with the second modular space that has a nature wall inside a different take on the waffle cone design. It’s often said that chocolate makes everything better. This comes into play with the completion of “Frosty Treats Nook.” The What A Melon statue got a chocolatey addition with more seeds. Also, the walls got a few treatments from some chocolate popsicles, and a few ice cream sandwiches became chocolate-flavored. I wanted to talk about the design of this particular space. If you look closely at the pic you will notice the ceilings are done in almost the same colorings. Then, the walls have that ice-creamy color. This was an intentional design decision, so that when entering the space it gives that ice cream sandwich vibes. Did you get those vibes too when looking at the space? Happy Monday! This past week, I shared the various base works for July’s “Scoops of Joy: An Ice Cream World.” For today's update, I wanted to share an update to "Shake and Sundae Oasis." The site will feature an area that will feature a shake and sundae shop where visitors can enjoy a refreshing milkshake or a tasty sundae. Also, the exhibit will feature Sparky and Ace as soda jerks to help visitors along the journey. Having them as soda jerks as guides helps drive the ice cream theme and give the mascots another level. The updates to this were minor, but I wanted to share this anyway. The first was an addition of a few more ice cream cones. I found some AI-generated ice cream assets. One pic had a rose as part of the ice cream. So, I took my rose brush to create a nature display to bring nature into this space. The next part of this update is the modular display where visitors can enjoy an ice cream cone slideshow. I took the ice cream cone pattern to the outside to complete the ice cream cone theme. Then, I hung some ice cream cones from the ceiling and added two more monitors on the sides for viewing. There is still more work to be done in this area. The base room for the sundae and milkshake-themed space is shaping up to be interesting. Like the rest of the rooms you will see, this will have the feel of March's "Whimsical Wonderland," where I'm creating a unified space and incorporating various assets and original creations together. This room will offer more photo moments and a few other surprises, especially with the milkshake-influenced modular piece.
