This weekend we had the opportunity to take part in the Formula Student Boxberg event. 🔥 After arriving on Friday, we were able to get to know the other participating teams in a relaxed atmosphere and enjoy the public viewing. ⚽️ After the safety briefing on Saturday morning we were able to go straight to the scrutineering. We all passed at the first attempt. ⭐️Unfortunately, participation in the dynamic events was delayed due to unstable weather conditions. As soon as the weather conditions improved, we were able to start the autocross. 🏎️💨Unfortunately, our car retired just before the end due to electronic problems. It was probably because the conditions were still too wet. Nevertheless, the weekend was a great success. We would like to thank Bosch and ETAS for the invitation and the organisation.🥳

🏁🏎️ Formula Student Germany competition - this international engineering competition is not only about the race results of self-constructed and self-built cars – whether gasoline-powered or electric. Some cars even drive autonomously, without a driver, to earn extra points. Ultimately, the overall performance in design, financial planning, and sales strategy counts. 🧠 Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG was one of the main sponsors of the competition. Through a strategic partnership with the organizers of Formula Student Germany until 2025, the foundation for supporting future competitions has already been laid. ⚡ Moreover, Würth Elektronik eiSos GmbH & Co. KG has been closely connected to the Formula Student world for a long time and supported 33 of the 50 participating German Formula Student teams this year during their entire development process. 📈 At a joint booth, students were provided with essential consumables, spare parts, and tools. This included insulation tapes, brake cleaners, gloves, as well as inductors, connectors, and EMC materials. 🙌 #FSG #würthelektronik #hockenheimring #partnership #creatingtogether

Day 1 (for me) at the IAA Munich. Things I learned/refreshed today: 1) Munich is such a lovely city, amazing people and beautiful culture 2) Chinese OEs are extremely aggressive in the EU market: American OEs, be aware.. their perceived quality is outstanding 3) Webasto is a fantastic company: I love my colleagues, the space at the IAA is really great and the booth downtown Odeonsplatz is unbelievably cool 😎! 4) Autoshows are not the same as I used to remember when I was a kid.. now cars are not necessarily the main attraction. 5) do you remember the internal conbustion engines? 6) loafers are not really the best shoes for walking 21,457 steps.

Those who know me, know about my passion for motorcycles. I had this weekend an experience which I loved and also made me reflect. Testing 3 new motorcycles in Interlagos circuit, was no less than thrilling! You go for the first time on a motorcycle you never rided, you drive on a F1 track you have no experince and you have your motorcycle “bro’s” around you that you dont know… result? High levels of axiety, energy, adrenaline and a lot of focus. Now, how much of that can we extrapolate to our working environment? How often do you embark on a project or challenge you have never faced? How often you face an environment you dont know? What do you do to prepare yourself? In my case, I read about the motorcycles I was going to ride, analized the interlagos circuit and followed my desire to have that experience! …and what an exciting experience it was! How often do you allow yourself to go beyond what you already know?

Lightweight Gravel Electric Bike Boosts Range by 50% Italian bicycle manufacturer 3T has launched a new model of their Gravel electric bike, which is 12 kilograms lighter than its predecessor and also boasts an increased range. The key components of the RaceMax Boost include the Mahle hub motor (X-20), a 150-kilometer range battery, and a carbon fiber frame. The battery capacity has been increased from 236 Wh to 350 Wh. Despite the larger battery, the frame material keeps the Gravel e-bike relatively lightweight. Additionally, there is an option to attach a 173 Wh bottle battery to extend the range per charge, though this will add 1.1 kilograms to the overall weight. In a blog post, 3T explained, "With relatively mild power management, riders under 75 kilograms can comfortably cover over 150 kilometers on hilly, fast gravel/paved routes with an elevation gain of 2000 meters, considering the EU's speed limit of 25 km/h." #Lightweight #LightweightAsia2024 #bicyclemanufacturer #framematerial To learn more about the market trends, stay tuned to Lightweight Asia 2024 Date: 03-05 July 2024 Venue: Shanghai New International Expo Center Learn more:https://lnkd.in/gid2RGSb

I help senior US immigrant professionals land their next leap job | Partner at EngSim (Adv. Engg. consultants) | DM "UNSTUCK" if you're having a tough time landing your next dream job.
One of my best days was built on many tough ones. I was way over my head. I was made the powertrain captain of a Formula SAE racing team. And it was less by credibility and more by default. The team that had led the car to a top-10 finish (or was it 15) just two years ago was dismantling. For a small (er) university, they had beaten university behemoths of North America and Europe. It was an unbelievable achievement and set a standard for years to follow. The team had put in 3-4 years of their time and were ready to graduate from school and the program. So it was essentially left to us, a group of rookies, to lead the team. When we met for the first time, we all looked around at each other, and there was some resignation 😅. Talk about a deer in front of a headlight moment. Rather than folding, we decided to replicate last year’s car with some modifications. And even that was hard. From the first meeting of the year to the day of the competition was an uphill battle. But we finished the car part by part with immense hard work and help from the graduated team throughout the year. We were still unsure how it would fare in the competition. The day of the event arrived, and we all had jitters in our stomachs. ✅ We cleared Tech / Tilt / Noise / Brake tests ✅ I barely cleared Driver Egress 😀 ✅ BSed our way through Design judging ✅ Did decently on the Cost and Business presentations But the main question was, will the car run fast and reliably? Acceleration event 🏁 Skid event 🏁 Autocross 🏁 Endurance 🏁 Holy ****, we survived and completed the competition with a top 40 finish out of 100+ best universities worldwide. Filling that gap by maintaining the status quo helped the team continue with the program next year. Who knew what would’ve happened if we didn’t do that? So sometimes, showing up and maintaining consistency can be much progress. What do you think? PS. Driving this badass car in an international competition has been one of the best memories of my life.
