Pursuing Master's in Operational Excellence | Mechanical Engineer | Hochschule Hof | Sulzer | MIT Pune
Dear LinkedIn Network, I am thrilled to share that I have started a new journey as a Master's student in Operational Excellence at Hochschule Hof, University of Applied Sciences, Bavaria, Germany. I believe this significant step takes me closer to my career goals. I'm thankful to my parents, family, friends, teachers, colleagues, and everyone else who has supported and guided me to reach this stepping stone. There are many reasons why I chose Hochschule Hof for my master's degree. Hof University stands for interdisciplinary and application-oriented studies in engineering, technology, business, and design. The Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) are a special feature of the German higher education system. The UAS have a practice-oriented approach and are more focused on applied research. This means the focus is more on practical industry problems than on theory. Since my school days, most of the time when I learned any working principles, theories, formulae, etc., I was always more interested in the actual applications and implementation of these learnings. This habit of mine might have been developed in my early childhood, when playing and building toy machines out of Mechanix (Zephyr Toymakers) gave me a great sense of accomplishment. With my hands-on industry experience of nearly three years and the method of teaching and learning at Hochschule Hof, I wish to enhance my knowledge and skill sets and tackle the upcoming challenges in the global industry. As I embark on this new adventure, I look forward to growing my connections, forging meaningful relationships, and exploring new horizons. 😊 #Masters #MBA #Engineering #Operations #Excellence #Germany

Since I've had a few people ask about dissertation, I thought it would be best to do a little summary post here! The dissertation analysed how efficiently Formula One constructors’ where able to use their budgets to maximise their performance The project used data envelopment analysis (DEA) to measure each Formula One constructors ability to use their budgets efficiently to maximise their performance relative to other teams. This type of analysis has been used frequently in the field of sports economics, however, there was a surprising lack of it in F1 sports economics! I focused on the seasons leading up to the introduction of the mandatory budget cap. Through rigorous analysis, I identified inefficient constructors and demonstrated the substantial budget reductions these teams could make. These findings even provided strong justification for the recent introduction of the cost cap. The project also identified other interesting trends such as efficiencies plummeting in the season following a teams takeover, giving an insight into the risks and a potential warning to future investors. Through this dissertation, I was able to shed light on the economics of Formula One, providing valuable insights that could benefit the sport's stakeholders, including team owners, investors, and regulators. Understanding the efficiencies and inefficiencies of budget utilisation can help teams make informed decisions, allocate resources effectively, and ultimately enhance their chances of success on the racetrack. I am grateful for all the support and guidance I received whilst working on this. Undertaking this research was a challenging yet rewarding experience. It allowed me to combine my passion for motorsports with my academic background in economics If you're interested in learning more about my research or have any questions, please feel free to reach out! #FormulaOne #SportsEconomics #DEA #BudgetEfficiency #Research #Dissertation

📣 Hello Feedback Friday 📣 Feedback Friday is here again, reminding us of the importance of time management and appreciating the moments we do have. Stay tuned next week as I delve deeper into these topics. This week, I shared the story behind Luna and the innovative approach that inspired its creation, driven by a student's experience. Similar to the initial inspiration, Hayden from Northumbria University utilises Luna to extract key facts from lecture materials, effectively enhancing his learning process. Hayden highlighted the ease of converting lecture materials into a different format using Luna and quickly generating key notes - as his favourite aspect of Luna. This also highlights Luna's versatility proving it's not just for revision. It's inspiring to see how Luna is empowering students like Hayden to optimise their learning. [Image description: graphic with a green background showing a young, white student with black hair and a green top explaining his favourite thing about Luna. Hayden from Northumbria University said "The ease of putting lectures in different formats and getting quick notes". #FeedbackFriday #BooostEducation #StudentVoice #dsa #edtech
