FUN FACT FRIDAY INTRIGUING BORDERS ACROSS THE WORLD The Spanish-Portuguese Border. The border between Spain and Portugal popularly called ‘the Stripe’, has played a significant historical role in shaping the two nations’ identities. Stretching approximately 1,214 kilometers (754 miles) across the Iberian Peninsula, this border is one of the oldest uninterrupted borders in Europe, dating back to the ‘Treaty of Alcanices’ in 1297. Despite its length, the border is marked by only a few physical barriers due to both countries signing the ‘Schengen Agreement’ of 1991 making them member states of the Schengen Region thus allowing a seamless relationship between the two countries. One of the fascinating aspects of the border is manifested in the Spanish enclave known as Olivenza, which is entirely surrounded by Portuguese territory and has been a source of diplomatic tensions between the two nations for years. This enclave amongst others, reflects the complex historical interactions and territorial disputes that have shaped the region over the centuries. Notably, the border showcases a rich cultural blend of both territories, as both countries have influenced each other's traditions, cuisine, and architecture. The towns along the border often celebrate shared festivals and cultural events, creating a sense of unity and interdependence between the two nations. This harmonious coexistence is a testament to the amicable relations between Spain and Portugal today. #border #bordersecurity #bordercontrol #borders #borderpatrol #funfacts #funfactfriday #funfridays #funfact #funfriday

If this guy ever had to go out and purchase groceries, he might consider all the farmers harvesting the food in his cart, that have to pay carbon tax to grow and harvest our food. Then the trucking companies that deliver the food must buy gas with a carbon tax associated with each item increasing their costs. Canadian consumer's cost of a trip to the grocery store has more than doubled in the last three years. Then everyone in this country needs to heat their homes it hurts common Canadians every day. Why don't we eliminate carbon pricing it is not reducing worldwide emissions it only reduces Canadian emissions. Focus on research and development inside our Canadian Energy companies to find alternative energies and deliver the cleanest possible energy to the world. That will do more for the environment, the people of this great country, and the world. Canada needs more clean Canadian oil and gas. Every company that I deal with daily is concerned about the well-being of their employees and about the well-being of our world's environment! Trudeau you just don't get it, (it is not about a sweet UN posting into your retirement) what you are doing is harming everyone in this country and not helping the Environment. Get rid of him.
The difference is clear: while Pierre Poilievre wants to take Canada backward, we’ll keep Canada moving forward – for everyone.
