This year for Social Responsibility Day, dozens of Convergint colleagues volunteered and dedicated their workday to enhancing the facilities at Tarkington Independent School District in Texas. This project was part of Convergint’s STEP Up for Schools program—an initiative to enhance school safety in underserved schools.

"How can I help?" I've been asked that question a lot lately. If you have signed up to volunteer for one of the eleven teams - thank you. That's what Tara would ask you to do. If you have volunteered in the past, and you plan to volunteer this year, don't drag your feet. Go sign up now. It's hard to explain the amount of pressure our Area Leads feel this time of year. Talk to people in your circle who would be a good fit for what we do. The bottom line is this: More adult role models = more kids. If you think this is important I encourage you to take action. This program brings people together. This program creates more community. Our culture is rooted in personal accountability. What we do is clear. How we do it is clear. Expectations are clear. Strive to be the best version of yourself. Help others do the same. Invest in youth. Invest in the future.

What a heartwarming initiative by ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India! It's truly inspiring to see the company's employees come together with a shared sense of purpose to uplift their local community. The 'Community Connect' CSR activity, in collaboration with Goodera, showcases the company's commitment to fostering inclusive environments and supporting the education of visually challenged children. The fact that over 60 employees from AM/NS Khopoli volunteered to create 220 Tactile Cards with Braille words is a testament to their compassion and desire to make a meaningful difference. These specialized educational tools will undoubtedly serve as an invaluable resource in helping visually impaired children learn and develop. It's remarkable how a simple yet impactful initiative like this can bring people together, cultivate a spirit of togetherness, and contribute to the betterment of the community. This is a shining example of how businesses can leverage their resources and workforce to create positive change and make a lasting impact. Kudos to ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India for their thoughtful approach to corporate social responsibility and for empowering their employees to be agents of change. Initiatives like these not only benefit the targeted communities but also foster a deeper sense of purpose and fulfillment among the volunteers. Truly, an inspiring display of #SmarterSteels and #BrighterFutures.
Uplifting community through a shared sense of purpose can be fulfilling. Over 60 of our employees from AM/NS Khopoli, volunteered for 'Community Connect' - a CSR activity held in collaboration with the Goodera organisation. During this activity, the volunteers were shown how 'Tactile Cards' with Braille words, served as an invaluable tool in fostering inclusive learning environments for visually challenged children. After a brief demonstration, our volunteers created 220 Tactile Cards with Braille words to help contribute to the education and development of visually impaired children. #SmarterSteelsBrighterFutures

Celebrating School Governors' Awareness Day - The Power of Volunteering As we mark School Governors' Awareness Day today, the 29th of February 2024, I am reminded of volunteer school governors' profound impact on our education system. Volunteering as a school governor has been an incredibly rewarding journey for me, and here are two reasons why I chose this path: 1. Making a Real Difference: Being a school governor allows me to contribute meaningfully to the educational journey of young minds. It's about ensuring our schools excel academically and providing a nurturing environment for all-round development. 2. Community Engagement: This role has allowed me to engage with our community more deeply, understanding its diverse needs and aspirations. It's about building bridges between schools and their communities, fostering a collaborative environment that enriches education for everyone. I encourage professionals from all backgrounds to consider school and trust governance. It's a chance to give back, share your expertise, and shape our society's future. Let's spread the word and inspire more individuals to join this noble cause. #SchoolGovernorsAwarenessDay #VolunteerGovernance #Education #CommunityEngagement #Leadership#schoolgovday

Don’t wait until your confident to show up. Show up until you’re confident. We made it back in time from San Diego for our Reno Rodeo volunteer obligations! The Spanish Springs Rodeo Team volunteered at Kids Day. Reno Rodeo raises over $2 Million a year to support 14 different counties in Nevada, including our rodeo team. On our way out, Ainsley and I snuck to the back alley way and captured a few photos. She was nervous about being caught 😂, but I wanted her to get the on the ground opportunity to visualize what running at the Reno Rodeo would look like some day. Opportunities to visualize what you want is so important. If you are leading a team, parenting, or working towards your own goals…creating opportunities to visualize what that achievement looks like is so important. Dream building motivates and fuels you to show up confident even if you don’t feel confident. Reno Rodeo, Reno Rodeo Association, Reno Rodeo Foundation

Being a fundraiser, to me, means embracing the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others. My role at the YMCA, which I am deeply passionate about, allows me to be my authentic self, whether that means showing up to work dressed as a pirate, leading songs, or educating about safety in fun and engaging ways. However, beyond these lighter moments, the true essence of my job lies in the ability to effect positive change in the lives of children and their families. Throughout my time here, I've been moved by the resilience of families facing challenges that seem insurmountable. Our team works diligently to provide tailored support, striving to create an environment where each person feels valued and cared for, without them sensing the extent of our efforts. This focus on delivering an exceptional experience is at the heart of what we do. As we look forward to 2024, there are specific areas where funding is critically needed. I am reaching out today to ask if you or someone you know can help champion one of these causes. Your support could significantly help us bridge the funding gaps for essential services: - Providing an on-site nurse during the summer, which requires $12,000. - Hiring a seasonal behavior specialist, with a funding need of $7,800. - Employing a seasonal mental health specialist for both staff and campers, also needing $7,800. - Offering direct access to families impacted by cancer, which requires $8,000. - Supporting families navigating the foster system, needing a similar amount of $8,000. - Providing Support to (10) Title 1 schools so students can access Outdoor education, with a funding need of $7,000-10,000 - In 2023 with provided $150,000 of program adjustments, closing this gap also allows us to focus on program advancement. Your involvement, whether through direct support or connecting us with potential champions for these causes, can profoundly influence the lives of those we serve. Together, we have the power to make a real difference. Select the link to become a fundraiser, Thank you https://lnkd.in/g2aPrj7Q

At a time where connection feels more crucial than ever, I'm excited to share new work from the Ad Council's Belonging Begins With Us campaign in partnership with the American Immigration Council. Our 'shared table' PSA is designed to demonstrate how we can bridge across lines of difference to cultivate stronger, more connected communities Nearly three-quarters of Americans report feeling a lack of belonging in their local communities. This feeling of disconnection not only affects our personal well-being but also impacts workplace productivity and the strength of our democracy. It's clear that fostering a sense of belonging is not just important – it's essential. Our new creative partnership with the Team Up Project, led by founding partners Catholic Charities USA, Habitat for Humanity International, Interfaith America , and YMCA of the USA (National Resource Office), seeks to expand relationship-building activities and encourage connection in local communities through shared action. Belonging truly begins with us, and by coming together, we can create stronger, more inclusive communities where everyone feels valued and connected. https://lnkd.in/dwyYFXim

Impacting Lives Through Empowering Individuals | Volunteer leader, Certified Enneagram Coach, Licensed Solemniser | ChFC®, AEPP®, IBFA
Community is more than a place. It's about the lives we touch and the impact we make. Chairing the Punggol West Community Centre Management Committee... I have seen the power of community engagement. It creates a space where people feel supported, connected, and empowered. The impact? We nurture a sense of belonging and mutual support. From youth programs to initiatives for the elderly, our efforts are designed to make sure no one feels left out or behind. Why this matters... In a world that's increasingly digital. The human connection matters more than ever. Our work in the community is a reminder of the tangible difference we can make in each other's lives. Here's what I've learned... Every contribution, no matter how small, has the potential to spark change. Whether it's volunteering a few hours, participating in a clean-up, or simply lending an ear to someone in need, it all adds up. And the best part? The joy of seeing our community... Come together. Overcome challenges. Celebrate achievements. Witnessing this strength in action is truly rewarding. So, here's my invitation to you: Get involved. Make an impact. Your community needs you. And trust me, the fulfillment you'll find in service is unparalleled. Together, let's make a difference. Not just for today, but for generations to come. #WeMakeImpact

🌟 Empowering Communities: Bridging the Gap Between Corporations and Non-Profits 🌟 As professionals, we often find ourselves deeply committed to fostering positive change in our communities. Today, I want to share a vision that holds immense potential for impact: the powerful collaboration between corporations and non-profit organizations. Regardless of our roles within our respective companies, we possess the ability to forge meaningful partnerships that can uplift and empower those in need. If there's a non-profit you deeply resonate with, take a moment to envision the transformative impact that could be achieved by joining forces. For me, that organization is Cradles To Crayons Inc, specifically their Philadelphia Chapter. Their dedication to providing essential resources and educational support to children in need resonates deeply, particularly in a city like Philadelphia, where over 300,000 children grapple with poverty. It's crucial to recognize that these children are not just statistics; they are the future of our community. By empowering them with the tools they need to thrive, we're investing in a brighter tomorrow for everyone. So, I urge you: if there's a cause close to your heart, don't hesitate to reach out. Forge connections between your company and the non-profit sector. Together, we can create a ripple effect of positive change that reverberates far beyond our individual efforts. Let's work hand in hand to build a future where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Together, we can make a difference. 💫 #CommunityEmpowerment #CorporateSocialResponsibility #PartnershipsThatMatter https://lnkd.in/dw4VTbUs
