I have been working at Marrickville Legal Centre for 9 years and have never witnessed the type of demand for our services that we are experiencing now. Conditions are hard out there and they're becoming increasingly harder for those that are already struggling. We have an amazing group of staff and volunteers who go above and beyond to try to meet this need but sadly, like many community legal centres, we do not have the resources to help everyone. This isn't fair. People should be able to engage effectively with our justice system irrespective of their level of income. This is why we launched the Low Bono Legal Service (LBLS) in 2020. The LBLS service model offers affordable fixed-fee representation for those who cannot afford private lawyers but are ineligible to access free legal support. Since its inception, the LBLS has assisted 364 clients, recovering $3.4 million in entitlements. The fees generated through this service have enabled MLC to employ an additional lawyer, which means we can help more people. We are also working closely with Women's Legal Service QLD, the EDO and Microsoft Gold Partner, Barhead Solutions, to develop a new legal practice management system called Consensus for Purpose. Built on Microsoft’s Dynamics 365, Consensus for Purpose will streamline the entire client journey and reduce the administrative burden through automation and AI. This will free up our limited resources to focus on legal work and speed up the process for those needing help. These projects capture the innovative culture at MLC that is forever exploring new ways to help more people. We will never receive enough funds from government or donations to meet demand, which is why we need to be more creative in how to do more with less. This year we’re asking for donations to help advance these projects. Every dollar donated to MLC goes further, ensuring that more individuals receive the legal support they desperately need. Your tax-deductible donation will not only make a difference in the lives of those MLC serves but also helps drive the innovation needed to bridge the justice gap in Australia. We’ve had a very generous offer to match every donation up to the value of $10,000. All donations received through to 30 June will be matched dollar-for-dollar, so your impact will be doubled! Please consider donating to Marrickville Legal Centre today by heading to mlc.org.au/donate
Donate to MLC before 30 June and double your impact! All donations received throughout this week will be matched up to the value of $10,000, thanks to one generous anonymous donor. Your donation is tax-deductible and every cent will go directly towards providing legal assistance to the community. Donate at the link in our bio: www.mlc.org.au/donate #Doubleyourimpact #JusticeForUsAll #fromtheinnerwestservingnsw #MarrickvilleLegalCentre #endoffinancialyear

Do a good thing today
@C_O_Visions run after school youth clubs in #Coventry. The most pressing issue for the kids? Hunger. If you can afford to help out, the kids love Aldi's noodles - 35p a packet. If you make a donation, we will use it to give hungry children a hot meal. Yes, we asked @AldiUK if they could donate a box of noodles. They said they were inundated with requests and couldn't. https://lnkd.in/ec9Hm5pW

The reach of DAFs is so extensive that more than one out of every four dollars that individual Americans donate to charity goes to a donor-advised fund... Do you want to centralize your charitable giving in one place? Sign up for a donor advised fund today. A donor advised fund is created by donors when they make a tax-deductible donation to a qualified 501(c)(3) DAF sponsor like The Signatry. From there, the donor can recommend 1) how those dollars are granted out to other nonprofit organizations and 2) how those dollars are invested to grow the fund balance over time. When you sign up for a donor advised fund with The Signatry, you are partnering with a Christian DAF sponsor with a commitment to values and solving the world's greatest problems. Our desire is for more of your donations to reach causes close to your heart, and we back this up with our 0% admin fees on assets under management. How do you donate to a charity with purpose and intention? We loved this question and all the rest in this Q&A from NPR's Life Kit. It's from Giving Tuesday but has some great insights that apply to how we donate -- and how we ask for donations -- all year long. Quick listen for individuals, companies and nonprofits alike! https://buff.ly/3T1ZyU2
