Did you know, per combatwounded.org... -There are more than 2.5 million post 9/11 military veterans that have served our nation, which is less than 1% of the population. 80 percent of those spent some time in an overseas combat zone. -Over 2 million served in Afghanistan and Iraq, spending 1 out of 3 years serving overseas Thanks should be given everyday but especially as Veterans Day approaches let’s be sure to remember our heroes and recognize the sacrifices they, and their families, have made to protect our way of life. #RepublicServicesVALOR10 #VeteransDay #RepublicServices #SustainabilityInAction

Please watch! The messages in this video are amazing because you don't have to serve to learn these messages and you don't have to serve to implement the lessons compiled in the video into your career and the corporate world. No matter where we are it's so important to learn the ends and outs of leadership and to apply what you know to grow your team. Remembering that everyone around you needs to be encouraged and no one should be left behind. Good leaders lead from the front but great leaders constantly check on those in the rear.
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸For those who saw my post before, last year for Veterans Day I wrote an article about some of the most important lessons I took away from my military service. This year, I thought we’d make it a bit more special by asking some of my fellow service members what they took away from their service… and here it is!! Thank you to everyone that helped out, and Trevor Melton for editing. Most importantly, thank you to all those serving and who have served! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 #veteransday #veteransday2023

The United States of America
This National Veterans and Military Families Month, we honor and thank active military members, veterans and their families and caregivers by inviting them to enjoy our public lands for free. A free lifetime pass is available for veterans of the U.S. Armed Services and Gold Star Families, and a free annual Military Pass is available for current U.S. military members and their dependents. The passes provide free access to over 2,000 federal recreation areas, including national parks and wildlife refuges. Interior proudly offers these passes to demonstrate our immense gratitude for those who make enormous sacrifices for our nation. https://lnkd.in/dU5bPpx Photo by NPS

May is Military Appreciation Month, a time to honor and recognize the contributions and sacrifices of the men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Every day, American service members and their families make the selfless decision to help defend our freedoms and safety around the globe. Military life often involves huge sacrifices – whether it’s relocating far from family and friends or service members’ spouses giving up their own careers to keep their family unit together. There are countless ways to show your appreciation and give back to our veterans, active military personnel and their families. One of the simplest ways of showing appreciation is to say, “thank you.” You might also consider giving a military spouse a hand in their day-to-day lives. If you know a deployed military family, why not drop off a meal, offer to babysit or take their dog for a walk? And if you’re a business owner, giving back can be as easy as providing a military discount. These small gestures can go a long way in supporting service members and their families. As a veteran myself, I understand the importance of support and camaraderie within the military community and I encourage you to join me in showing appreciation in whatever way you can, both this month and always. #MilitaryAppreciationMonth #MilitaryAppreciation #Veterans #SupportOurVeterans

DO YOU KNOW the difference between certain patriotic holidays? For example, what is the difference between Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and Armed Forces Day? These three holidays should not be confused. Memorial Day is a federal holiday that remembers and mourns people who have died in U.S. military service. Veterans Day, also a federal holiday, honors the service of all U.S. military veterans, both living and deceased. Armed Forces Day, meanwhile, celebrates everyone currently serving in the U.S. armed forces. Unlike Memorial Day and Veterans Day, Armed Forces Day is not an official federal holiday. #Wagnerrealty #armedforcesday2024 #militaryservice #armedforces
