Actively Seeking Full-Time Opportunities || MSCS @ University of Southern California || Software Developer || Python, AWS, GCP, SQL, NoSQL, PowerBI
🌟 Day 3 of my 31-Day Challenge 🌟 Today, I explored Salesforce and completed some trails available on https://lnkd.in/g8XsWvev. Salesforce is a cloud-based software company known for its customer relationship management (CRM) product, enhancing business connections with customers, prospects, and partners. I also tackled a challenging LeetCode problem, sharpening my software engineering skills. Every step forward in this journey adds to my growth. Excited for what's next! 🚀 Basic Git Commands: git init: 🌱 Initializes a new Git repository. git clone [URL]: 📦 Clones a repository into a new directory. git add [file]: ➕ Adds a file to the staging area. git commit -m "[message]": ✉️ Commits the staged changes with a message. git status: 📊 Shows the status of changes as untracked, modified, or staged. git push [remote] [branch]: 🚀 Pushes committed changes to a remote repository. #Day3 #ContinuousLearning #SoftwareEngineering #LeetCode #CareerGoals #seekingnewopportunities

I'm a big proponent of CI/CD. For those of you that aren't familiar with the concept, it stands for 'Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery/Deployment.' It's great because it allows development teams to be agile and always improving the product offering without waiting for a dedicated deployment day every 2 weeks. It's a win-win for the dev team and the end users. When I was a junior Salesforce engineer, I would deploy something every day of the week if I could. But as I've matured in my career, I've learned a very important lesson... DON'T DEPLOY ON FRIDAY You can run all the tests in your sandbox environment and be 99.99% sure that everything's going to be fine when you deploy your changes to production. I'm here to tell you that the 0.01% of the time you're wrong will wreck your weekend. Do yourself a favor on this Friday and hold off that deployment until Monday. I promise your end users will understand. PS. I'm well aware that there are instances where Friday deployments are unavoidable for hot-fixes 😅 What's your worst Friday deployment horror story?

🔴 Interview Experience at #Paypal and #ServiceNow #ServiceNow: 👨💻 for IC2 - Software Engineer Role - Round 1 - I participated in a global hackathon organised by ServiceNow, and the difficulty level was medium. There were three DS-Algo questions. Shortlisting was done based on test scores. Then both technical interviews took place on the same day, the questions mostly revolved around DSA and problem-solving. - Round 2 - First 1:1 Technical Interview. I was asked two standard data structure & algorithm questions(medium-level - graph, dp). - Round 3 - Second 1:1 Technical Interview: The DSA questions were quite standard here too (medium-level - graph, dp). Overall the round went very well, I was able to implement both the coding problems, and also he asked me a few general technical questions. HM Interview: This was the last round. We discussed about the work culture and growth at ServiceNow. The interviewer asked me a few situation-based questions and also he asked me to explain my past projects. Overall I learnt about the company. - Cleared all the rounds. #Paypal: 👨💻 - for Backend Java Developer Role - Round 1(Online Assessment): Online coding round on HackerEarth (I was able to solve both questions). - Round 2(Data Structures & Algorithms): two medium-level DSA coding questions, followed by some Java questions. - Round 3(LLD+Problem Solving): Design a queue broker like Kafka, and some advanced Java questions. - Round 4(Techno Managerial): Cultural fit, behavioural and Project-related questions. - Cleared all the rounds. #interviewquestions #interviewpreparation #interviewtips #jobs #interviewexperience

Software Engineering - Remember Risk! I thought I would share this as something of importance. I know as ServiceNow software developers we do not build what could be termed necessarily as life-critical-systems (failure of which could cause loss-of-life); that I am aware of, but we do build software that if done poorly could result in loss of money. https://lnkd.in/gJRG5DRS NOTE: Originally published 2-29-2016. I have re-published this article to 1) make sure it works in Vancouver, 2) to fix the formatting and missing pics from several Community system moves since original publication. #ServiceNow #ServiceNowCommunity #ServiceNowScripting #ServiceNowMVP

Thanks for sharing! Love that he mentioned "Clean Code" and "Design Patterns"! Two books that have stood the test of time. Throw in there "The Pragmatic Programmer" too! If nothing else, look up the excerpt from the beginning of Clean Code called "The Total Cost of Owning a Mess". Definitely not just Salesforce! Just yesterday I was having a hallway convo where someone showed me a proof of concept app that consultants threw together. It looked good and another leader said "That's great! Just tell them to build the whole thing!" STOP!!! They leave when they're done! You have to have the experts create more experts by building it together. SOFTWARE IS A CRAFT! CRAFTSPEOPLE CREATE MORE CRAFTSPEOPLE TO CARRY ON THE CRAFT! #craftsmanship #softwareengineering
🔥🔥 This is the most worrisome issue I see in the #Salesforce ecosystem. We should confront this issue. SF Developers are no different from other software engineers. This is our skill foundation 💪💪 #Salesforcedeveloper #softwareengineer #salesforceway
