Radio took the airwaves and transformed society as we know it. But what exactly did this transformation look like, and how did it help foster new technologies like television?
Our latest American Innovation webinar answers these questions and more.
As an Infrastructure company, it's easy to forget what we are contributing to in the society. A lot being critical for any society, such as health services, communication for emergency services or just banking, but we are also making sure that the internet lives and thrives. This drives culture, which is a critical part of driving humanity forward, and as such this is such a cool initiative, trying to preserve modern culture in the physical realm, tying virtual and physical together.
Much like what we do by digging a fiber cable, putting some light in it and suddenly creating a virtual highway of data!

Really happy to see such widespread and positive response for our/GlobalConnect’s initiative to preserve internet culture with physical monuments across Sweden (perhaps in a neighboring country soon?). The initiative is a homage to the internet’s most viral and iconic videos, made possible through our +155,000 km Pan-Nordic fiber network.
I got the chance to talk about the initiative with Swedish public service television SVT. And if you haven’t already, make sure to place your vote on Filmfabriken’s Instagram, so we can immortalize internet culture and give it the respect it deserves! 💪🏽
Hats off to Tina + team & FLB Europa for making this happen 🙌🏽

Austria 🇦🇹: The digitization fund for radio is to be increased by 1 million euros per year. This fund supports the costs of digital terrestrial radio broadcasting via DAB+. "From June, 30 new radio programs will be launched via DAB+ and will make the radio offering in Austria even more colorful and diverse," says Drumm. "This will give Austrians even more choice, and it will be completely free and easy to access. But refinancing these stations is difficult, especially in the first few years, so this start-up funding is important to stabilize the offering."
