I am pleased to announce that our recent paper "Augmenting Security and Privacy in the Virtual Realm: An Analysis of Extended Reality Devices" is now available in the Jan/Feb 2024 issue of IEEE Security & Privacy magazine [1]. Our research presents an extensive analysis of the security and privacy challenges inherent to XR devices both in the existing literature, and the currently available devices. We propose future research directions and design considerations essential for ensuring the robustness of XR technologies against evolving security and privacy threats. The significance of our work has also been recognized by the editors-in-chief, Franziska Roesner and Tadayoshi Kohno, who have recommended our paper as essential reading for researchers and practitioners engaged in the study of XR device security and privacy.
