Check out CMBlu Energy, Inc. President Giovanni Damato and Salt River Project Chico Hunter’s appearance in Utility Dive’s “Taking Charge” series focused on engaging with power sector leaders on the energy transition. This piece highlights our Organic SolidFlow battery technology, our proud partnership with Mercedes-Benz, and our Desert Blume project with the Salt River Project utility in Arizona. It also highlights two of the standout differentiators for CMBlu’s battery technology; an onshore supply chain free of critical minerals and increased safety. 🔋 “The Organic SolidFlow battery uses an oil- or bioplastics-derived feedstock that contains no lithium, nickel, cobalt or other critical minerals, so it’s less reliant on international suppliers and less vulnerable to volatile commodity prices,” Damato said. 🔋 “CMBlu’s 5-MW SRP pilot project, which is expected to come online late next year, will have 80 strings of modules that can be disconnected individually if a single module malfunctions, reducing the risk of a catastrophic failure,” Hunter said. Repurposing coal plants with #lowcarbon energy can lead to cost savings and economic benefits. We estimate deployment of nearly 2 GW of #SMRs, alongside #renewables and #storage, as the least cost solution to both #decarbonize and maintain local economic impacts at coal plant sites in North Carolina. This is in part possible due to more easily siteable micro modular reactors like Last Energy, with comparable economic impacts per MW to larger SMRs.

Active Energy Group PLC (AIM:AEG, OTCQB:ATGVF) said it is talking to lawyers and alternative production partners after the contractor building its first CoalSwitch 'black pellet' biomass plant refused to commit to future production. After contractor Player Design Inc (PDI) pushed back the date of the commissioning of the Ashland plant, which is situated in the US state of Maine, several times last year, Active Energy said it had been in talks to try and resolve the construction issues PDI has now said it is "no longer willing or able to commit to either: i) a future production date for CoalSwitch fuel; or ii) future production volumes of CoalSwitch fuel", the AIM-listed company said in a statement. Active Energy said it has several potential customers lined up to receive CoalSwitch fuel at the earliest opportunity. Bia Energy announces developments for low carbon methanol project at Port of Caddo-Bossier Bia Energy Operating Company (“Bia Energy” or “the Company”) today (Monday, April 15) announced significant project updates for its low carbon methanol production facility at the 4,000-acre Port of Caddo-Bossier industrial multimodal facility in northwest Louisiana (“the Port Complex”). The facility is designed to be able to reduce carbon emissions by over 92% compared to traditional methanol production by capturing CO2 and utilizing hydrogen as both fuel and feedstock. The Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) study and major permits are complete for the 74-acre, $1.2 billion facility designed to produce 550,000 metric tons of blue and bio-methanol per year. To support the marketing of the facility’s production, Bia Energy has entered into a 20-year Commercialization and Marketing Services Agreement with Macquarie Commodities Trading, an affiliate of Macquarie Group’s Commodities and Global Markets business (“Macquarie”). Through Macquarie, the project is currently seeking fixed-price offtake agreements with organizations in the chemical, maritime, manufacturing and industrial sectors looking to switch to low carbon methanol. Bia Energy is collaborating with CapturePoint LLC to capture and transport the CO2 to a class VI well site in central Louisiana. Bia Energy will utilize the J. Bennett Johnston/Red River Waterway for its barge shipments of finished product. https://bit.ly/3UksqHt #methanol #sustainable #marine #maritime #efuel #futurefuel #energytransition #renewable #alternativefuel

Innovative energy solutions are key to achieving sustainability goals, and converting old mines into gravity batteries is a game-changer. This novel technology utilizes sand to store energy, providing a cost-effective and long-term solution. By repurposing abandoned mines, we can enhance energy storage capacity, support renewable energy, and provide economic opportunities for former mining communities. #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #InnovativeTech https://lnkd.in/eQZ5ahhe
