TLDR: Consistently show genuine appreciation, no matter how small the gesture—it carries more impact than you realize. Had a truly meaningful experience at work today that I wanted to share, in the hopes that someone gains something meaningful from it. Every day is an adventure. Every day presents its own challenges and rewards. After joining Rackspace Technology a little over 5 months ago and decided to try something new with my teams, challenging myself to do something I had never done before -- close out every week by sending a note of appreciation to my leadership team. Why this is important: all too often as leaders of organizations, we fall into a habit of only sharing words of gratitude and appreciation when major events or accomplishments happen. It dawned on me that if you are paying attention to the goings on in your org, you quickly realize there are amazing things happening every single day, things that are worth highlighting and showing appreciation for. I have been following this practice for about 10 weeks now. Every post, I was never sure of whether my reflections were being read, taken seriously, if they were believed, or if they even made a difference. Today, found the answer was a resounding "YES". Friday, I missed a posting due to a long and exhausting (but fruitful) week. Often I wait till after hours late Friday night, giving myself time to reflect on what I was particularly appreciative for that week. One small problem - I fell asleep on the couch while spending time with my family. Fast forward to this morning. On my team thread, I received a note publicly calling me out for missing it (thankful for the accountability) along with a message stating "The Friday quotes are so good to read..Even I was checking for it after getting up in Saturday Morning." That one got me - and reinforced the power of paying attention to the every day and being accountable - it matters. Morale of the story: Be present, accountable, intentional, and authentic. It will be noticed and taken to heart whether you realize it or not. You and those around you will be better because of it.

New year, new team & new model How’s the new year kick-off been for you? At VPF, we have been busy re-organizing our team to bring you a new VPF in 2024. Read on to see what’s in store: 🎉 We proudly introduce to you VPF 2024 core team with 4 professionals coming from different backgrounds and careers. But with one common thing: they have been active members of VPF community for a long time and now are now willing to step up to lead their own initiatives with other VPF associates. Let’s cheer for Anh-Duc Vu,Trang N., Le Phuong Anh and Giang Le and wish them a fantastic year with VPF. And especially thanks them for their courage and efforts as well 🙏 🤝 VPF core team will be further supported by a renewed Advisory Board formed by VPF co-founders and veterans: Giao Le (Nordcloud/IBM), Le Thuy (August Associates), Linh Dang (Strategy&/PWC), Michelle Ngan Lam (ServiceNow) and Linh Nguyen (Hiab). Other ex-core team members such as Tri Nguyen (Wärtsilä), My Vo (PWC), Nam Vu Hoang (Supermetrics),… among others are available for support on an ad-hoc basis too 🙌 📈 As our community has grown to over 200 registered members in 2023, VPF wants to replace the annual membership fee with pay-by-event model to cater to a growing need for larger scale offline events. Better yet, all VPF past contributors (past organizers, speakers, coaches and registered members) are invited to join this exclusive community and events too. That would make us a 300+ member community in 2024 🔥 Watch out this space for an update on our first member exclusive event to kick off this year: VPF traditional New Year gathering on 24.02.2024! 🧧

G O D • A C C E R L A T E S • T I M E As part of my YPO (Young Presidents Organisation) Forum on May 12th, 2021, I set ambitious goals that would focus on creating an enduring company. I am still on cloud nine, knowing the Atlanta Business Chronicle has recognized us as one of their 2024 Pacesetters. This achievement marks us as one of Atlanta's Top 100 Fastest Growing Privately Owned Companies, a testament to our team's dedication, effort, and hard work. Looking back, I outlined five key goals to accomplish by 2025. Achieving this recognition is a step closer to fulfilling these aspirations and even more evidence that God has our back on this journey: - Become one of the Best Places to Work. - Become one of the Healthiest Places to Work. - Become one of the Fastest Growing Companies in Atlanta. - Become one of the Fastest Growing Companies in the Inc. 500. - 50 by 50. New Zealand’s Foremost Multi Award-Winning Facilitator of Courageous Conversations and People Leadership
Most weeks I try to take time to reflect- what’s going well, what’s not, and what to work on. A few weeks ago, I wrote in my Reflection Journal the word "Congratulations", and listed the highlights for the year, and here's the thing... In just listing highlights off the top of my head, winning the Supreme Award for the David Business Awards came in at No. 11 (out of 12). I wasn't ranking the highlights in order of importance- just listing them as they came to mind (and I am certainly incredibly grateful (and to be honest, still shocked) at having won that accolade). My point is this- in your position, in your business, in your life, there will have been highlights that are worth noting and reflecting on (and even celebrating). Awards aren’t a “thing” in and of themselves- they are recognition of a whole bunch of good “things”. No doubt many of the other David Awards Applicants have many, many aspects to their businesses that are worth recognizing and celebrating, whether they won an award or not. It's great to stop and consider what’s gone well this year. It’s worth sharing that with family, co-workers, your team. The chapter of 2024 is about to open with a wave of new challenges (both seen and unforeseen), and once it does, the opportunity to stop and reflect on the “wins” of this year will be gone. I encourage you to do this, especially if it’s been a tough year. Like you I’ve had challenges, and this exercise is not, in any way, a strategy to avoid tackling the tough issues, but it is a great platform from which to tackle them. Well done on doing your best again this year.

On a mission to build the most people and customer-focused technology infrastructure provider in the UK | Chief Corporate Development Officer and co-owner of CAE
We often get asked about our awards cabinet, which is stacked full of trophies won over the past few years. I couldn’t be more proud to display them to all our visitors, but not for the reason you might think. We’ve won countless awards and partner accreditations at CAE Technology Services Limited over the years, recognising everything from our work innovating around sustainability with our partner Cisco, to promoting a positive and inclusive culture. But these awards aren’t for bragging rights, they serve a different purpose altogether. The value of awards primarily in two areas: Firstly, by entering an award you go through a process of examining your performance and engaging the rest of the business to discuss your progress (or sometimes not!) in a particular area. It takes a lot of effort to enter an award and I always learn something new each time we fill in an entry form. Secondly, you cannot overstate the value of awards to the people in your business. When I see the look on colleagues’ faces when they have been recognised by their peers or the industry at large, it’s priceless. I truly believe that celebrating success internally gives everyone a lift and generates pride for the company they work for. Maybe it’s time to refresh the awards cabinet and put some of the old ones away - but they hold too many good memories and provide a reminder of the journey we have been on together. What’s your take on the value of industry awards and partner accreditations?

CSM in VC Fundraising 🌎 | Leveraging a tech-enabled agency approach to enhance VC Funds' visibility and strategy | Aiming to help create 🦄 that will benefit our one and only home 🌍
I want to share this amazing post created by Sumi Jaiswal, as it accurately represents the state of CS World and struggles that we are going through. 𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗖𝗦 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵. - Your role = fluid - Your scope = everything - Your team = over burdened - Your boss, CEO = always busy - Your authority = wobbly in most cases - Your feedbacks = ignored by product/ engineering - Your responsibility = increasing with every new customer - Your budgets = shrinking faster than the cashmere in a washer - Your technology = lagging poorly with excessive manual labor for teams - Your difficulty = expanding in as sales get more experimental to make targets And yet you smiled at your customers, you faced the product bugs, talked about product strength and all that magic (that you stopped feeling yourself). In the last few days of the year, let's cheer for all the CS leaders and CS teams who are the face of the organization. Who are the revenue team that starts the target at 100% knowing that even a down-sell will dent this number. Who get impacted because something that someone else is responsible for did not work. Put these guys in front of a customer - they smile, shake hands, and talk highly even about the grass in the lawn of their organization. (yes that loyalty amazes me!) Even though in the cafeteria you leave them behind, even though during the victory laps you miss clapping for their efforts, even though every new sale is just a seed and the real fruit is nurtured by these CS teams in harsh weather (implementation, support, training, success), even though after the big battle when the customer finally agrees to renew it's called a 'Save' and not a 'Win'. How do I know this? I have been told. I have seen it. I have felt it. The lows, the pain, the neglect, the feeling that we aren't as valuable, even after nurturing the most valuable assets - our customers and their ongoing revenue. Remember Cinderella? Don't wait for your CS teams to leave you and fit into the metaphorical glass slippers/ shoes where they are truly valued. The clock is always ticking; there are enough glass slippers/ shoes out there and more getting made as the world wakes up to power of CS as a revenue team. Wishing everyone a Happy New Year 2024 and hoping that the tides turn in the CS world for the better. We cheer, clap, praise, reward, empower and enable these heroes more. #happynewyear2024 #customersuccess #customerservice #implementation #support #customersuccessmanager #csleaders #founders #cs #csm #b2b #saas #linkedinforbusiness All content was copied from the original post by Sumi Jaiswal.
