I just read the Cloud-Transformation survey conducted by CIO, CSO, and Computerwoche and found that it adds interesting perspectives to the findings of our own PwC Cloud Business Survey on the state of Cloud transformation of German companies.🌩️ The study reveals that cloud security plays an important or even decivisive role to more than 70% of the respondents. Almost half of the companies also stated that the lack of qualified personnel, as well as a high degree of complexity, pose major challenges during their digital transformation, resulting in a shift towards external Cloud services. 🔍🤝 The key criteria for companies when selecting a Cloud Provider are: • 🔧 Trust in technical expertise, • 🔒 trust in information security, • ⏰ Trust in service availability, and • 📜 proof of compliance (e.g. via certificates). And for good reason! Cybercrime is still on the rise as reported by the German BKA and data loss or leakage remains a major risk. 🔐👥 This once again emphasises how critical the security and trustworthiness of Cloud Providers is and how organisations should pay close attention to whether their Cloud Provider of choice is able to demonstrate Compliance and Security via relecant certificates and compliance reports such as SOC 2 and BSI C5. 💪🌐 https://lnkd.in/dujn2eHA Also find the results of PwC’s Cloud Business Survey here: https://lnkd.in/evmCB_QU

I wanted to share some interesting findings from the Cloud Business Survey 2024 conducted by PwC, regarding the progress of German companies in cloud transformation. 🌩️ One of the big takeways for me was that for German companies cloud transformation is not just about the benefits of agility and cost savings, but also about leveraging benefits for cyber security. 🔒 However, it's worth noting that many organizations still have work to do in terms of cloud governance. Only 40% of the companies surveyed have successfully addressed the issue of shared responsibility between cloud providers and users. 🤔 This raises some important questions for you to consider within your cloud strategy. Are you aware of your cloud risk? Do you have the necessary insight into your Cloud Provider's information security and compliance reporting? And are you adjusting your own controls to fulfil your part of the shared responsibility?📋💡 If you leverage Cloud Infrastructure to build your own services you might also need to start thinking of yourself as a SaaS Cloud Provider.
