Just as the Americans with Disabilities Act made the physical world accessible to all, new regulations are emerging globally that will ensure digital accessibility. TestParty is poised to be a market leader in this important next chapter of progress. K. Ventures is proud to support Michael Bervell and Jason Tan on that mission.
Every day today was a dream three years ago. Right now, this feels especially true as TechCrunch announced our $4m fundraise for TestParty! With a seed round co-led by Harlem Capital and the Urban Innovation Fund along with backing from the National Science Foundation (NSF), Jason Tan and I are excited to build the future of automated compliance. Did you know that over 96% of the top million websites fail compliance testing for the Americans With Disabilities Act? This means that people who require screen readers or other assistive devices to navigate the web can’t fully use and experience the vast majority of the Internet. Jason and I realized that this problem often starts with engineers who don't know how to write accessible code or create accessible products. TestParty automates testing, remediation, training, and code monitoring to bring websites into compliance with accessibility standards. Our vision is to up-skill any engineer into an accessibility engineer. Thank you to all of our investors including Bain Capital Ventures (scout fund), K. Ventures (Kennedy family's disability-focused venture fund), Soma Capital, Gaingels, and The MBA Fund for believing our the vision to create a more accessible internet. If you're interested in building with us, DM me or apply on our site: we're beyond excited for what a more equitable digital future could look like!
Love this!
