✨ Get ahead of the competition and recruit now ✨ For many companies the summer holidays are a quiet time of year; our job market data shows less jobs are advertised, so there is less competition for candidates. From our experience, therefore, summer can be a great time to recruit, and it is a chance for job seekers to step away from their usual routine and workplace to reflect on their career goals and current lifestyle. Did you know that it’s 100 days before Christmas? Normally we see a downturn in recruitment over the festive period but I predict this year that things will still stay busy with people looking to kickstart their career in the new year. So, saying that when should you start looking and apply for a new role!! I would say 100 days before you want to start a new role!! All depends on if you have one month or three notice period though! It will take you a couple of weeks to search through websites and job boards to find that dream role. Then apply and give the recruiters/hiring manager time to work through applications. Then it will take time to schedule interview and maybe 2nd interviews. Then you will need to work your notice before starting your dream role! How can that process be streamlined and more manageable? Work with the right recruiter maybe…..but I would say start now if you want to start a new role in the new year!! If you are looking for a new career in Engineering, Energy and Renewable or Professional Services then maybe let us help you with your next move. https://lnkd.in/eaVAV-Ei #100days #santascoming #Recruitment #engineeringjobs #AberdeenJobs #energyjobs #jobsearch #newjob

January is a month full of anticipation, as new graduates look for jobs, and HR professionals are busy looking through lots of applications. But here's the sad part, often, when these hopeful graduates apply to their dream companies, they don't hear back. It's like their applications disappear into silence. They keep waiting, missing out on other opportunities, just hoping for a reply. A suggestion comes from the heart that HR could use special software to send rejection emails. Imagine a world where Gmail or Outlook can automatically send rejection emails, giving closure and keeping dreams alive, guiding these hopeful graduates towards new opportunities. #hr #hrprofessionals #jobs #jobopportunity #rejection

Recruitment and The Seasons 🌧🍁🍂☀⛄ Just like many industries, recruitment is seasonal, with Autumn being one of the busiest! It's also one of my favourite times of the year, and Switzerland definitely does it justice - as you can see in this beautiful photo of Bern! Here's why Autumn is the best season to look for a new job: ☀ Things tend to slow down in the summer. Holidays result in a delay in hiring processes, including long wait times for feedback, issues arranging interview dates, and fewer new roles. This is particularly relevant for the European market - where it is common to take month-long holidays! When Autumn comes around and everyone is back at their desk, hiring managers are keen to get on top of things again. 💰 Another reason that Autumn is such a busy time in recruitment, is that hiring managers need to use what's left of their budget. Hiring managers need to use up allocated funds for hiring before new budgets are rolled out in the new year. 🎄 Christmas is just around the corner, and managers are keen to get their roles filled before this busy period. It's a great time to get positions closed off, and start dates arranged for January, so candidates can enjoy their time off and start their new role fresh in the new year! 🏆 There is also less competition at this time of year. January brings new budgets and new positions, but the new year also sees more candidates looking for jobs meaning more competition for open vacancies. In order to stay ahead of the crowd, look for a job in Autumn rather than wait for the new year. So, grab yourself a pumpkin spice latte and start that job application! ☕ #autumn #recruitment #switzerlandjobs

Embrace the flexibility of your job search journey! January: Many companies receive new budgets at the beginning of the year, which can lead to increased hiring. Additionally, individuals may set career-related resolutions for the new year, making it a good time to explore new opportunities. February to April: Spring is often associated with new beginnings, and companies may be looking to fill positions that were put on hold during the end-of-year holidays. Hiring activity can pick up in various industries during these months. May to August: In some industries, hiring may slow down during the summer months as key decision-makers take vacations. However, certain sectors, such as tourism and hospitality, may see increased hiring during this time. September to November: Hiring often picks up again after the summer break, with companies focusing on year-end goals and projects. Many organizations plan for new hires before the end of the calendar year. December: While some companies may slow down their hiring during the holiday season, others may be looking to finalize hiring decisions before the end of the fiscal year. Networking during holiday events and parties can also be beneficial. Remember that these are general trends, and the best time to apply for jobs can vary based on factors like the industry, location, and the specific hiring practices of the companies you're interested in. It's advisable to stay vigilant year-round, continuously monitor job boards, and be ready to apply when suitable opportunities arise. Additionally, building a professional network and staying active on professional platforms can be effective strategies for uncovering job opportunities regardless of the time of year. Remember, while understanding seasonal hiring trends is valuable, the perfect time to start your job search is when you're ready. Stay motivated, be proactive, and seize opportunities whenever they arise—your ideal career path knows no specific season. #talentacquisition #recruitment #sourcingspecialist #talent #hr #jobsearch #jobmarkettrends #seasonalhiring #hiring #hiringmanager #candidates

Is it pointless to apply for jobs during the summer? 🤔 Absolutely not! There are a few reasons for this: ⬇️ ☀️ 1. Not everyone is on holiday. Many companies continue to operate and hire throughout the summer months. If they're serious about hiring, they often have good interview availability. ☀️ 2. Recruitment consultancies are always active. Even if the hiring team is on holiday, recruitment consultancies often work on their vacancies during this time. This means recruiters are actively hunting for suitable candidates to present to their clients when they're back, so this is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door! ☀️ 3. Be ready for the post-holiday rush. Even if everyone is on holiday and there are no external recruiters working on the roles, it's still worth continuing your job search. Companies typically review applications as soon as they return from holidays, so you should make sure your CV is waiting for them. At Cathcart Technology Finland, we are still hiring for various roles during the summer. If you're currently located in Finland with a valid work permit, get in touch — maybe we can help you in your job search. 🤗 #recruiting #recruitmentconsultant #hiring #finland

📢 The Hidden Benefits of Hiring in August! Contrary to the misconception of a recruitment slowdown, August holds several unique benefits that companies can capitalize on. Let's explore why hiring in August can be a game-changer: 1️⃣ Access to Top Talent: While some professionals may be enjoying their well-deserved vacations, many others remain actively engaged and open to new opportunities. 2️⃣ Reduced Competition: With some companies adhering to the notion of the "August slowdown," the competition for top talent naturally decreases. By bucking this trend and staying proactive in your recruitment, you can stand out as a go-to employer, attracting top-tier candidates who appreciate your commitment to growth. 3️⃣ Faster Decision-Making: The hiring process in August can often be expedited as key decision-makers are more accessible due to fewer meetings and reduced internal distractions. This agility can lead to quicker turnaround times and help you secure the best candidates before your competitors get back in full swing. 4️⃣ Preparation for Autumn Surge: Smart organizations understand that hiring in August sets the stage for a successful autumn. By proactively identifying and onboarding talent now, you'll be fully equipped to hit the ground running when the business landscape picks up pace post-summer. 5️⃣ Engagement with Passive Candidates: During slower months, passive candidates tend to be more open to conversations about new opportunities. By initiating contact in August, you can engage with potential candidates who might not have considered a move during busier times. 6️⃣ Focused Onboarding and Training: With a potentially lighter workload in August, new hires can benefit from a more focused onboarding experience and personalized training. This dedicated attention sets the stage for a smooth integration into the company culture and helps foster long-term employee satisfaction. 7️⃣ Capitalizing on New Graduates: August often marks the graduation season for many students. Hiring at this time opens the door to fresh graduates eager to jumpstart their careers and bring innovative ideas and energy to your organization. Embracing the hiring opportunities in August demonstrates your organization's resilience and strategic mindset. By seizing the hidden benefits of recruitment during this time, you can attract exceptional talent, enhance team dynamics, and position your business for greater success in the months ahead.
