June 28 marks the anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising in 1969, a pivotal moment for human rights. When we celebrate #Pride month, we celebrate the achievements that have been made in the 55 years since that day and the people who made them possible. But just as we recognize that progress, it’s also important to reflect on the journey we have still to make and the many ways we can all contribute to a world that advances equality for the LGBTQIA+ community and embraces diversity and inclusion. Everyone deserves the right to live authentically and proudly.   #PrideMonth #Ally

We sometimes hear from "D&I professionals" that activism is not the way forward, but sometimes it's the only way. It's tragic when it has to come to violence and loss of life as with Stonewall and many other examples where minorities had needed to literally fight for equality, inclusion and basic human rights. To name just a few from my own country, the U.K.: the Suffragette movement (women's rights) in the early 20th century, the Brixton riots (black rights) in 1981. Pride and other movements have made huge progress that they can be proud of (pun also intended). The largely peaceful campaigning for the rights of people with "disabilities" such as the "nothing about us without us” (disability rights) campaigning in the 1980s across Europe is ongoing. And in all areas, there is still much work for be done. The Pride, the Deaf and other communities have common and overlapping histories. (Homosexuality considered a "disease" or made illegal, sign languages being banned, disabled people being neutered - all this even in "modern society"). There is so much intersectionality between different communities. We stand together as allies and continue the fight - if that can happen peacefully, all the better.

Couldn't agree more! 🌈 Stonewall was huge, but there's so much more to do. It’s about the little things too, like calling out casual homophobia or ensuring our workplaces are truly welcoming for everyone. Every action counts!

Justice delayed, is justice denied 👎 Isn't it shocking that almost anyone can be held back just because of who they are or whom they love? Everyone needs to step up, learn and educate themselves about these important issues. It's not about being right or wrong, it's about being human and understanding others. Isn't equality a fundamental right for all? #LoveIsLove
