It's not like this wasn't possible for the last 10 years with other phones. I'm not a fan anyway. If you need to go somewhere you are constantly plugging your phone in and out. Or if you get text messages or need to type on your phone there's always a cable attached. I was kind of expecting that he would just drop his phone on that dock and his desktop would instantly appear on the external monitor. Talking about an anti-climax. It all looks very cumbersome to me, I rather use a laptop or terminal.

Great! Is this a direct connection or going through a NetScaler?

I am actually remembering my Nokia Windows phone back say 12 years ago running a as a full pc doing this, and even having a dock with a keyboard, mouse, and external peripherals. Nice to know we can expect iPhone to catch up with the rest of the industry. What's next, a headphone plug, and replaceable battery.

While Citrix Systems (Now part of CSG) does not build Consumer/Prosumer hardware, This seems to be the oportunity to build a dock that would work with iPhones and implement an easy way to get these devices deployed as an option for ultra mobility USC-C dock with Fast Charging capabilities and perhaps Ethernet (Yes, Samsung Did it and it never took off, Motorola Did it and it never took off), add BT Mouse/BT Keyb and you're carrying less weight than a laptop There's a myriad of variations for this (a dock for office use, a thin client-like device that replaces a laptop, or just a dongle that would do it all) and make it universal that would work with Android and Apple devices

Yes. Love this. You can also add usb-c ethernet connection to it.

Chris Fleck Fleck You can do this with earlier iPhones too - here's a iPhone XS, for example, with #citrix using the iPhone as a touchpad and a wireless or wired display. You can use a Swiftpoint GT or Pro Point if you prefer a mouse too. These and those using Android Desktop modes such as Samsung Electronics DeX, Motorola Mobility (a Lenovo Company) Ready For and CROSSCALL X-Space are all great ways to use smartphones more effectively and with VDi & Cloud PCs, you don't necessarily need a separate Windows device better for the planet.

OMG Chris Fleck it is finally here. The Nirvana Phone you always talked about and ofcourse it was Apple who built it. I remember you trying this 15 years ago. The tech wasn’t there but you hacked together some pieces to show the world what was possible. You are a technology beacon. Ed Iacobucci would be proud of you. We changed the game at Citrix . The world just wasn’t ready for it. But they are now. Hopefully Cloud Software Group doesn’t f^ck it up. You’re one of the few original trailblazers that’s still there. Many chose to leave for something else. Always be you! #nirvanaphone #citrix #apple #yeswecan #changetheworld
