NOMINATE CELEBRATE ELEVATE What does that even mean? Let me explain. NOMINATE 📃 We need your help to let us know about the amazing young achievers out there, who are going about their work (in the community, or their career) and achieving great results. This is actually the quickest and easiest part of the Young Achiever Awards process. It only takes two minutes! It's your way of supporting a young person who you've been impressed by. CELEBRATE 🎉 Ever felt in a bit of a rut? The end of year stress getting to you? A compliment or some positive feedback is just so valuable in these situations. Young people right now are facing unbelievable pressures, from the cost of living crises, climate change and other social issues that weigh heavily, work/life balance and so much more. Our young people need to be celebrated and receive that positive feedback now, more than ever!! I guarantee you...nominate a young person in the awards and it will absolutely make their day, to know you took the time out of your day and the mental space to think of them and acknowledge their work. It will only take you two minutes...but it will mean the world to them. Beyond that wonderful feeling a young person receives by being nominated, they'll also be celebrated in many other ways throughout the awards process. ELEVATE 🙌 I'm a big believer that young people aren't "just" future leaders. They're leading right now. But that doesn't mean they don't need support, opportunities and a platform to showcase what they can do. Simply by being nominated in the Young Achiever Awards, nominees can receive the opportunity to be featured on social media, in media releases to their own local media outlets, 1-on-1 mentoring and to be part of special opportunities, like competitions where nominees receivied a free tailored suit, or a designer dress, so they could feel like rock stars at the Gala Dinner Presentation events! A big thank you to Lisa Bragg for delivering such an insightful and engaging presentation at our Women’s Thought Leadership event last night. The energy in the room was contagious. You left everyone wanting more. Thank you for sharing insights from your book, Bragging Rights and teaching us how to get comfortable with sharing our strengths. Your expertise and passion truly shone through, leaving us inspired and enlightened. We all look forward to implementing your valuable insights into action. My three biggest takeaways for the evening were: 1.     If you don’t share your successes, who will? No one can do so better than you. 2.     Lift up another woman and promote her success. We need to support one another. 3.     Share your journey not just the success. People want to know your story.

Are you ready for the new business season? We definitely are. Female Leaders Clubs new season was kicked off today at Tradehouse. Laura covered the topic of rebranding and it was great! I will not outlie all the wisdom and learnings here- too much content for a feed, but highlight 2 thoughts which sticked with me: 1. Rebranding- it’s not a MUST but a choice. Best off, if it’s initiated by top management. 2. The results of rebrading take time to arrive. We may think in this fast-pace world, cutomers come along fast. Not quite. Allow time for results to show and keep the big goal in mind (hence, the one why the rebrainding process was initiatated). Getting buy in from Senior Leaders about Diversity and Inclusion can be tough. Especially if you only offer them the following: - Panel Events - Celebration Meals  - Award Ceremonies Instead engage them by: - Changing their minds  - Getting them to self reflect - Interrupting their old behaviours The former lasts one night. "I'm just going for it while leaving room for moments I don't see coming." This has been my daily mantra for the past couple of years. Embracing it has led me on an incredible journey.  I decided that no matter how scary it was, I would start standing ten toes down in my authenticity as a Black woman and healthcare leader. And, honestly, start living out my name. I have to have this name for a reason, right?  🤷🏾♀️ As I begin to take leaps of "Faith," leveraging my strengths and lived experience as a Black woman to create innovative solutions that advance equity in healthcare.  Something happened: 🗣️I created and led an innovative sponsorship program focused on increasing the representation of Black women in senior leadership positions. What started as a grassroots initiative was adopted as an organizational initiative. 🌎I got opportunities to speak about this program on many highly respected platforms and even at a global conference.   ����I leveraged those opportunities to hone my craft and messaging as a professional speaker and booked 5 figure speaking engagements and workshops. (Lawd! I meant to say 4 figure speaking engagements but leaving this here cuz…speaking it into existence 🙌🏾) 💪🏾The confidence I gained from that led me to organize and host the inaugural Black Women in Healthcare Leadership Symposium. We have over 125 Black women Healthcare professionals, leaders, and clinicians registered.  And Sis even got some corporate sponsors.  (Pssst: It’s happening this Friday - Are you coming??) Amidst all of this, something truly unexpected happened. As of last week my work was published in Management in Healthcare - A peer-reviewed journal! This is something I never anticipated, but I’m SO proud to share it with you today.  And baby, lissen, I know this is only the beginning for me. 💁🏾♀️ Sis, there is so much beauty in leading from a place of strength and authenticity. There are so many doors just waiting to open for you, doors that you can’t even begin to imagine.  Just take the leap, Beloved!
