Great things start with great visions, so it should be no surprise that the real secret weapon behind the Metaverse is “seeing is believing”; something like 80-90% of all information absorbed by the brain is visual. The Decentralised Finance (DeFi) category continues to attract a lot of investment and attention as we head into Q2. Pitchbook's latest "Emerging Tech Indicator" report highlights DeFi & Web3 categories for attracting the largest amount of investment for the third consecutive quarter. So many parallels to the digital revolutions taking place in other value chains e.g. democratizing data at the system and user level, enabling composable enterprises that reduce product development friction, next-gen AI, and, lest we not forget the promise of robust security!

The metaverse is a platform or perhaps a manifestation of the Internet itself. It will aspire to our most basic instincts, and occasionally wow us, but in doing so require a whole new level of data-related sophistication not dissimilar to the protections required during space travel.
