On July 10th, CGC held its second annual Cowboy Corral, our flagship Calgary Stampede event. This was an opportunity for our fantastic Western Canadian customers, as well as government officials, non-profits, and community and business leaders to network and support a great cause. Thanks to the generosity of our customers and community partners, we held a silent auction with the The Home Depot Canada Foundation that raised $24,000 for the Trellis Society! Trellis Society offers parent and caregiver support and early childhood, youth and family programs in Wheatland County and across Alberta. Our commitment is to be a good neighbour and community steward wherever we do business — and given that our Wheatland plant is now under construction, we’re going to be doing a lot more business in Alberta in the years to come! Thank you to all current and past employees from our Hagersville Plant who joined us on June 22 at The Greens at Renton Golf Course for our CGC Annual Golf Appreciation Tournament. ⛳🏌️ The day was truly a hole in one, complete with friendly competition, team building, networking, and fun. Project Highlight - Brock Commons, University of British Columbia! The tallest mass timber building in the world was recently constructed on the University of British Columbia's campus, with an emphasis on being sustainable, versatile, and lightweight. This new residence building used an estimated 1.1 million square feet of ULIX board and as a result, the building weighs approximately 506,000 pounds less than if it were built using our standard 5/8 inch CGC Sheetrock® Type X!
