When I came across this year's #AIDS2024 social campaign tag line #PutPeopleFirst, it truly resonated with me. The fact that the conference is taking place in Munchen adds an extra layer of significance. As a public health advocate, I firmly believe that prioritizing individuals is key to eradicating HIV and AIDS. Testing methods like #molecularamplification, #isothermalamplification, #poct, and #digitalhealth tools play a crucial role. Let's work together towards a people-centric approach for a healthier future. #publichealth #HIVprevention #AIDSawareness #healthcareinnovation

Why do we keep having discussions about how we can engage youth to access HIV testing, treatment and prevention services? Are we not listening? We need to increase collaboration with communities about what they need and address barriers to service delivery. Panelists at #ICASA2023 emphasize that we need to look at barriers in a holistic fashion. There is lack of information, poor infrastructure, lack of access to services and lack of training for healthcare workers. We need to develop youth-friendly services that provide safe spaces for youth with integrated health service delivery. Finally, engage traditional leaders, faith based leaders and government. Understand socio-cultural drivers and collaborate!

Stigma, privacy concerns, cost and access to care are all barriers to #HIVtesting. Supported by CDC, Together TakeMeHome was created to increase HIV awareness status by making testing as assessable and private as possible. Through #TTMH, individuals aged 17 and older can order up to two free self-test kits every 90 days, ensuring that everyone, no matter their circumstances, can make their health a priority. #Practitioners can talk to their patients today to see if this is the best option for them: https://lnkd.in/gPwxfXNg
