Sharing two resources that will make the difference in your career transition if you're stuck in a rut: One Page Marketing Plan - Helps you get clear on what you are looking for + it will save you and your network time when you share it with them. This sample is a good place to start. I recommend removing the experience (that's what linkedIn is for), and adding a section on target compensation, location (remote, hybrid, on site, relocation options), and titles. Also, when adding info consider positioning - what you mention first in a list should be your top goal/focus. Today exactly one year ago His Majesty King Willem Alexander and Her Majesty Queen Maxima of The Netherlands 🇳🇱 were received in Slovakia 🇸🇰 by President Caputova for a three day State Visit. The visit highlighted a long-term partnership and launched an even stronger cooperation between our two countries 🤝 - we are both EU Member States and NATO-allies. These organisations guarantee our prosperity and security in these turbulent times. Building on a unique collaboration in which 🇳🇱 Patriot air defense systems protected 🛡️ the Slovak skies, we continue our constructive and productive partnership. The accompanying business mission of the State Visit reinforced our already strong economic relations. Those, as well as an inclusive and open business environment are crucial for the many Dutch companies active in Slovakia. The Netherlands is proud to be one of the biggest foreign investors 💶 in 🇸🇰, and 🇳🇱 companies have been bringing many jobs to this country the past years and will do so in the future. Some projects that resulted directly from or were highlighted during the State visit: 👉Talent Garden Traineeship program set up by 4 Dutch companies focusing on young motivated university students; 👉 Bezpecna Zurnalistika, a mechanism that helps protect journalists; 👉Talent Garden job fair to help young people with their preparation for job interviews and labour market; 👉close cooperation between the national children oncology centers of Slovakia 🇸🇰 and 🇳🇱; 👉expert consultations on soil and water 🚰 remediation; 👉continuing discussions on better including women in workforce. Great memories of last year and high ambitions for the future!

U.S. Department of State Recruiter for Alaska, Oregon, and Washington. Providing guidance and advice on careers, internships, and fellowships in diplomacy. Hosted by the University of Washington - Seattle
Telling the story of your potential to be a successful diplomat - the dimensions. Based on the weather here in the Northwest, it's clearly winter. Which means a Foreign Service Officer Test is coming up. I’ve been talking to some folks here in the Northwest about preparing, and have been explaining the dimensions. So what are these dimensions you are hearing about? The dimensions are the qualities we are looking for in candidates that show they have the potential to be successful in the Foreign Service. So what stories can you tell about how you exhibit these skills, abilities, and personal qualities? Do a self-assessment and start thinking about it. Tell yourself these stories or write them down. That’s how I prepared for my test over twenty years ago. Some things have changed since then, but many remain the same. Don't get too worried about covering these 100 percent, by the way. The dimensions are listed in alphabetical order but one of the most important dimensions in my opinion is at the end: written communication. At the beginning of the application process you tend to tell your stories through written communication. It's thus the key that unlocks the window to see who you are and what you’re capable of. Even if you decide not to pursue a career in diplomacy, these skills and abilities are probably being sought by other employers, so your efforts won’t be wasted. A story for another time, but as a Foreign Service Officer I continue to be evaluated on these dimensions (albeit framed differently) on my annual performance reviews.

There's a lot more that needs to be done to open Guyana's labour market to Trinidad & Tobago workers. There's a relationship history that requires some reparation. That reparation can begin with educating Trinbagonians on Guyana's history and contribution to the region, a better understanding of its unique socio-cultural nuances, and an admission of the immigration challenges -past and present- faced by Guyanese. Even today there are many Guyanese in TT who have been waiting for over a decade to have their status regularized - and being denied the right to work as they wait! Imagine being forced to eke out a living with no recourse to labour laws because there's a stamp in your passport saying not allowed to work while you wait. Imagine waiting for years (some as many as 15-20 years), while very recent migrants from Venezuela have the immediate right to work. Respect is a foundation for building trust and relatedness... and in this case "fair" and equal opportunity.

Back to school! 🏫🍎✏️ As it's that time of year, we wanted to share how we interact with the next generation of the shipping and maritime industry! Elite is devoted to participating in as many career events as possible to educate young people about the sector and gain their interest. However, we have noticed that most – if not all of the children we speak to are not familiar with the sector and have yet to consider it as a viable career option. It is our joint responsibility to make a positive impact on children from an early age. Like us, we need children to choose a role within the sector to help us to future proof our skills base. #InTidesOfChangeGoElite #EliteConsultGroup #SeasTheDay #MaritimeRecruitment #Shipping #Recruitment #LogisticsRecruitment #Seafarers

National Security Analyst | Cross-Cultural Leader | Public Policy Researcher 📚 Providing context at the intersection of national security & foreign policy — Let’s connect!👇🏽
For any of my soon-separating military connections: Are you looking for a tangible way to impact U.S. foreign policy as a Skillbridge intern? You're in luck—the State Department is a participating Skillbridge location, and they are actively seeking forward-leaning, self-starters to make a difference on the global stage. I'm two months into my Skillbridge at State and have had a fantastic experience so far. State is not currently listed on the Skillbridge website. So, here are the steps to get started: 1. Visit the link to learn more about State's different civil service career fields. When you reach out, you'll need to have an idea of what Bureau/Office you'd like to work in and what job title you'd like to have. For example, I requested a Desk Officer position in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs. I know someone else doing their Skillbridge in the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs. https://lnkd.in/eikJVT_3 2. Reach out to State's Skillbridge coordinator at vets@state.gov. Include your resume and a cover letter explaining why you want to do a Skillbridge at State. One thing worth noting as you consider. Due to the way jobs are advertised and filled at State, they cannot guarantee you a job at the end of your Skillbridge. I welcome your questions in the comments or via private message. But I will note that I am not an official Skillbridge ambassador for State—just a Skillbridge participant who wants to spread the word about a great opportunity.
