What a real Chief would say.
As the largest network of executive women, we have some edits on *that* speech. In his recent commencement speech, Kansas City Chiefs player Harrison Butker guessed that the majority of the women graduates were “most excited about marriage and children.” Our take? Stop reducing women to stereotypes or labels. Take it from thousands of Chiefs — CEOs, CFOs, CMOs who run things. Here’s what a real Chief would say:
Was the original statement actually addressed to women? It’s not evident from this post. What is evident is that the speaker is most excited about children brought into this world. Why isn’t that OK❓ Isn’t that the crux is work-life balance❓ And in the end, aren’t children and family SUPPOSED TO BE the thing we’re all “most excited about”⁉️ Carolyn Childers and Chief don’t lose sight of #whatmattersmost. We’d all be best served if we acknowledge that women AND men can have impactful careers AND ALSO be most excited about their children and families‼️
Much better! Thanks for the re-writes. Hope that chief learns something from a real chief!
Wow. Sometimes well-intended can be so misinformed and condescending. College is not for getting a Mrs. degree.
Amazing, Carolyn Childers. We should focus on developing our skills, especially for women. By nurturing your skills and potential, you will have numerous opportunities to thrive and progress. 💯✅
Edits on point. Thank you.
That’s right.
The edits are perfect! 🌟

1moLove this. Thank you for sharing. Elizabeth's Butker's son and Isabelle Butker's husband and Taylor Swift's boyfriend's team mate ought to see this.
