"Just tell me straight, I won't be offended" How many times have you heard that phrase but you know full well the person will be offended if you just gave it to them straight. It's similar to starting your speech with "No offense but..." and then proceeding to offend the person. Anyway my post isn't about providing feedback to candidates or clients. Its about the Linked In police regarding sending InMails. Please, please, please respond. Automated responses are available, so just 1 click required. If my message isn't of interest to you at this time or at all, "just tell me straight, I wont be offended... 😉" Us recruiters really need you to respond, even if it's a no. We get punished by the InMail police if our message response rate is too low. So you are helping me out by saying "I'm not interested" much more so than not responding at all. Thanks everyone, I now look forward to a barrage of messages telling me you're "not interested". Maybe a few will be positive! 🤞 #recruitment #recruiterlife

Call me insane, but I NEVER use "he" or "she", I ALWAYS write the FULL NAME of the candidate. Even in an email where the context is CLEAR. The thinking goes like this: Recruiter opens email after subject line click; ...; after that THEY GET LIKE 5 PHONE CALLS AND HAVE 25 INTERRUPTIONS;...; AT THIS POINT THEY ALREADY FORGOT what email they were looking at. If they read "he" or "she" THEY WILL ZONE OUT AND CLOSE THE TAB. HOW I KNOW THIS? 🚨🚨🚨BECAUSE THIS HAPPEND TO ME.🚨🚨🚨 Better hammer in the name of your candidates in people's head so IT NEVER GETS FORGOTTEN.
