Retrospective research has indicated that patients with Type 2 Diabetes had an adherence rate of 62-64% to their insulin treatment. Another study involving 144 adults revealed that 59% forgot to take their insulin, with 46% reporting non-adherence. Acute care costs and outpatient costs have been found to be significantly lower for adherent patients. PAMAN makes medication adherence easy and simple! https://paman.org.uk/home/ #DiabetesManagement #MedicationAdherence #HealthcareInsights

Hospitalists often encounter patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) but may lack the knowledge to assess patients with suspected OUD, manage withdrawal, initiate treatment in the hospital, or link patients to care in the outpatient setting. Hospitalists and other hospital-based clinicians require the knowledge and strategies to competently treat, fluently facilitate patient-centered conversations about treatment and support care transition plans and safe discharges. In partnership with ORN, the Society of Hospital Medicine developed tools to assist hospitalist-led teams in the implementation of interventions to improve the care of hospitalized patients with OUD with the use of FDA-approved medications. An implementation guide with a step-by-step approach to support the implementation of targeted strategies to improve the care of hospitalized patients with OUD is now available here: https://bit.ly/47hFEsJ #OpioidResponseNetwork #SocietyofHospitalMedicine #OpioidUseDisorder #AddictionTreatment
