We are honored to be recognized for pioneering and leading the global expansion of the carbon removal industry through direct air capture (DAC) technology.  Here are some key milestones accomplished in the past year: ➡ Expanded into the U.S., with plans to hire over 100 new employees in the near term, and recently opened offices in Austin, Texas.     ➡ Three of our projects were pre-selected by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for a $600 million fund under the Regional DAC Hubs program, recognizing our decade-long expertise to bring high-quality carbon removal to scale.     ➡ Secured landmark agreement of 15 years with Boston Consulting Group (BCG), marking one of the most significant purchases in the DAC industry. ➡ Announced plans to venture into Kenya with developer Great Carbon Valley.     In a remarkable achievement for the industry, we delivered the first-ever third-party verified CDR services at Orca to corporate clients, including Microsoft and have since partnered with Puro.earth to certify our CDR services under the Puro Standard, the first for DAC+S. We are thrilled to lead the investment in 280 Earth, a spin-out from Google X, the moonshot factory, following several years of dedicated effort and leadership from Darren Bonnstetter, jacques gagne, Gideon Yu and John Pimentel. Google X and 280 Earth have developed a groundbreaking sorbent that operates at low temperatures, enhancing the efficiency of carbon capture. This innovative system, predominantly powered by waste heat from industrial sites, is also capable of generating water, aiding in industrial cooling processes. We are just getting started with the first facility breaking ground in Oregon, marking a significant step in direct air capture technology and positioning the company as a leader in this critical environmental effort. ----- This follows a series of exciting developments over the past few quarters in the broader carbon/direct air capture sector, including the following 👇 🛢️ Oxy acquisition of Carbon Engineering for $1.1B to further its DAC technology, planning about 100 plants to remove CO2 from the air for various uses; 🌱 Amazon commits to DAC as part of its net-zero carbon emissions goal by 2040, purchasing carbon removal credits and investing in CarbonCapture Inc. including a 10-year contract for carbon removal from the STRATOS plant; 🌎 Montreal's Deep Sky raised $57.5MM in Series A funding, aiming to be a global leader in carbon removal project development. OpenAI’s Sam Altman has made headlines with a staggering request for $7 trillion in semiconductor fabrication research and innovation. A figure that's not just ambitious but reflects the monumental potential of technology to reshape our world. But here's a reality check: Our foundation, the very bedrock upon which these technologies operate - the American energy grid - is in a state of peril. The American Society of Civil Engineers has highlighted a glaring gap: a $200 billion shortfall in the investment needed to modernize and secure our energy infrastructure. CDR supply side also busy → Vaulted Deep delivered 1,666 tonnes of CDR to Stripe Frontier, neustark exploring mineral storage of carbon, and CNN profiles Equatic.tech. 💰 Toyota Ventures announced two $150 million funds to expand its investments in startups developing disruptive technologies and business models at the forefront of innovation - one of these, the Climate II fund, will expand investments into carbon removal. Climate Fund I portfolio already includes carbon capture, removal and utilization ventures like AIR COMPANY and Living Carbon. The right thing to do whether he learns it from legacy satellite companies mistake or his own interest! The public companies structure demand short term result and lots of maneuver in term of financial performance and numbers. Satellite industry in its very own nature is not catered to those short term maneuvers as well as the general public interest! Getting it public will kill the very essence of its existence and limit the innovation and growth and instead give the room to the shallow ideas as we are witnessing for decades! There is no one size fits all!
