Culinary dream. To be honest, b-f-t-m has never had the opportunity to collaborate with supermarkets or similar structures, and personally, neither have I. Not because they're not of interest to us, but because over the years, we've focused on different sectors. However, we always nurture curiosity and pay close attention to certain creative exercises that have a truly holistic approach. The Westblom Krasse Arkitektkontor studio, the design agency Snask, and the graphic designer Jens Nilsson collaborated to create a new concept for ICA Stop supermarket, part of Sweden's largest supermarket chain. The goal was to completely revamp the store, develop a new brand, and introduce a shopping concept unlike any other supermarket in Sweden, aiming to create a more personalized shopping experience. The green, red, and orange logo seemed to be around every corner! bdk parfums - Retail Store Concept Proposal The assignment that my team and I received was: Choose a brand that has never had a Retail Store and build a Retail Store Concept Proposal for that brand. And we chose bdk parfums, a very special niche perfume brand in Paris. The interesting thing is, right after my team and I completed this project, the first store of bdk parfums was also officially opened. Looking at the brand's real-life store and looking at the Retail Store concept that we developed ourselves, we concluded that: "When sticking closely to the brand's DNA and delving deeply into each product, whether One way or another, the results will be similar in some respects." We were very happy that the group's conceptual thinking was really on the right track. How we delivered over 350 boutiques and +2000 smaller formats in 4 years?😳 In January 2018, I joined the IQOS Team to spearhead the rapid deployment of IQOS boutiques. Our challenge? Launch quickly while building brand recognition in a highly regulated industry with a new unknown product. Here are 3 key takeaways from that experience: 👉 𝟭. 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁 Deploying rapidly felt like building the plane while flying it. We started with a vision and closely monitored our progress. This quote from a former colleague perfectly encapsulates the chaos and excitement of the journey. 👉 𝟮. 𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 In a decentralized organization, adapting to diverse local tobacco regulations was crucial. We developed a catalog of alternative solutions to maintain deployment speed, moving away from single-site designs that slowed us down. 👉 𝟯. 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗞𝗲𝘆 The collaboration between design and deployment teams was essential. Presenting strong proposals and navigating complex brand-building paths required seamless teamwork between markets and HQ departments. Those 3 elements allowed us to deliver over 350 boutiques and thousands of smaller formats in four years. We halved our cost per square meter and lead time to open new locations, a testament to the team's incredible dedication and hard work. Proudly, there is no "I" in team.
